TPO - In the first 6 months and July of this year, the socio-economic development of Phu Tho province has had remarkable developments, with an average economic growth rate of 10.09%, ranking in the top 10 localities with the fastest growth rate in the country; attracting more than 469 million USD in foreign direct investment (FDI).

According to Mr. Ta Tuan Son - Deputy Director of the Department of Finance of Phu Tho province, in the first 6 months of the year, the average economic growth rate (GRDP) of the 3 provinces reached 10.09%, reaching 186.4 trillion VND. The economic structure is towards industrialization and modernization, mainly concentrated in the industrial - construction sector with a rate of 46.58%.

Phu Tho province's economic growth rate in the first 6 months of the year reached double digits.

Total import-export turnover reached 34.4 billion USD, up 21.7% over the same period; disbursement of public investment capital reached over 50%; attracting more than 469 million USD of FDI capital...

In the first 7 months of the year, Phu Tho's industrial production index (IIP) is estimated to have increased by 25.73% over the same period, much higher than the national average. Key products maintained stable output or increased quite a bit, such as electronic components, laptops, air conditioners, etc.

Mr. Ta Tuan Son said that at the regular meeting in July, the Chairman of Phu Tho Provincial People's Committee requested agencies and localities to continue reforming administrative procedures, improving the investment environment, removing obstacles in compensation, site clearance, and determining land rental prices to implement works and projects, especially key public investment projects, creating momentum for growth, striving for double-digit economic growth this year.

Mr. Nguyen Khac Hieu - Vice Chairman of Phu Tho Provincial People's Committee - affirmed that the economic growth rate and budget revenue of the province in the first 6 months of the year and July achieved impressive figures. The province's budget revenue and growth rate were highly appreciated by the Central Government and ranked in the top 10 of provinces and cities with the highest growth rate and state budget revenue.

"In difficult conditions when the province merged and implemented a two-level government model, all social security policies and ensuring people's lives were implemented very well by all levels and sectors, meeting the wishes and aspirations of the people. With the current growth momentum, Phu Tho province is determined to achieve the target of double-digit GRDP growth in 2025," Mr. Hieu emphasized.
