Agribank branches in Thanh Hoa province and the Economic Security Department (Provincial Police) signed a cooperation agreement.
Along with the development of electronic payments, digital banking, and online transactions, related crimes have also become more complex with many sophisticated methods and tactics such as high-tech fraud, buying and selling bank accounts, misappropriation of assets through cyberspace, money laundering, etc. In recent times, Agribank branches have proactively implemented many solutions to ensure the security and safety of their operations, such as: deploying dedicated security forces, coordinating with local police forces where branches are located to ensure security and order; participating in 24/7 guard duty on holidays and Tet (Lunar New Year); conducting surprise inspections of security duty at subordinate units; reviewing and improving security plans for headquarters, vaults, and ATMs; equipping transaction offices with surveillance cameras and alarm systems... to ensure absolute safety of assets and personnel.
In addition, the branches coordinate with relevant agencies to organize training and drills on fire prevention, firefighting, and rescue; disaster prevention and control, including floods and storms; and develop and conduct drills on robbery prevention plans within the unit. Furthermore, the branches regularly organize training and disseminate knowledge on anti-money laundering and counter-terrorism financing to all employees. This enhances awareness, sense of responsibility, and skills in identifying and handling situations in practice, contributing to early and proactive prevention of risks and legal violations, ensuring safe, smooth, and compliant banking operations.
In addition to ensuring security and safety in operations, Agribank branches in the area also cooperate well with functional units of the Provincial Police in providing information and documents to serve the operational activities of the Provincial Police in accordance with the law. They are implementing the construction of enterprises that meet the standards of "Safety and Security". They are also strengthening efforts to prevent crime, social evils, and other legal violations among their staff and employees.
The provincial police and banks also coordinate and exchange information on protecting internal political security, economic security, and state secrets in banking operations. The Economic Security Department (Provincial Police) advises the Director of the Provincial Police to direct and assign tasks to professional departments and police in communes and wards to implement professional measures to promptly and effectively handle emerging situations and incidents, preventing passivity and surprises. The police force maintains a firm grasp of the situation and combats crime in the banking sector; accelerating the investigation and discovery of major cases that attract public attention... Therefore, for many years, the security and order situation in the monetary and banking sector in the province has been basically stable. The results achieved not only create a favorable environment for the operation of banks but also actively serve the socio-economic development in localities throughout the province.
Recently, Agribank branches in the province and the Economic Security Department (Provincial Police) signed a cooperation program to ensure security and order in banking operations. Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Director of the Provincial Police, Le Ngoc Anh, emphasized: Coordination to ensure security and order in the monetary and banking sector is an urgent requirement, with both immediate and long-term strategic significance. In the coming time, units need to continue to foster a unified understanding of the shared responsibility of the entire system; concretize the coordination mechanism with clear responsibilities; and promptly exchange and process information. The task of ensuring banking security in general, and at Agribank branches in particular, should be closely linked to protecting economic security and serving the socio-economic development of the locality. When coordination is implemented closely, synchronously, and effectively from the provincial level to the grassroots, it will contribute to building an increasingly solid economic security posture, maintaining stability in the area, and creating a favorable foundation for sustainable development.
