The 33rd Vietnam Student Informatics Olympiad, jointly organized by the Ministry of Education and Training, the Vietnam Informatics Association, and the Vietnam Student Association, aims to promote the learning movement and nurture young informatics talents. 159 teams from 87 universities, colleges, and academies nationwide participated in the competition across various categories and competition levels.

In the open-source software competition, there were 20 teams from numerous universities across Vietnam, including many strong universities in information technology training with consistently high achievements in previous years such as: Hanoi University of Industry, Can Tho University, Hanoi Open University, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH), Ho Chi Minh City University of Education and Technology, etc.

The competing teams were required to develop a community-serving application for emergency response, recovery, and humanitarian assistance. Most teams focused on creating maps showing hazardous and safe locations, as well as routes for rescue teams.

Specifically, the DTU_DZ_1 team, consisting of three members: Le Minh Tuan, Tran Nguyen Duy Khanh, and Trinh Minh Son from Duy Tan University, after realizing the duplication and low chances of success when having to complete many features in a short time, decided to choose a completely different path.

The DTU_DZ_1 team designed an application called Green Hope, which made a strong impression as it was the only project that applied both Blockchain and AI technology correctly, effectively, and most importantly, at the right time, addressing current problems such as: difficulties in search and rescue operations (specifically in Nu Village), and the fraudulent handling of donations from some organizations over the past decade.

With the goal of "Timely search for victims, igniting green hope after natural disasters," Green Hope aims for three core objectives:

Realtime Rescue: Utilizing video analysis technology from drones and security cameras with the YOLO and TensorFlow models, this system helps detect victims quickly and provide timely assistance.

Transparency in Charity: Applying Blockchain and compiling smart contracts using Solidity ensures that all donation transactions are stored transparently and are fraud-proof. The service utilizes NestJS in conjunction with the powerful integration of HardHat – currently the most powerful Solidity contract compilation and deployment tool.

Connecting Communities: Creating a platform to propose and coordinate post-disaster reconstruction, towards a more sustainable society.

Green Hope is not just a technological solution, but also a bridge of compassion, bringing green hope to those in need. The application is well-structured and highly effective. The system will become even more superior and powerful with more time and resources for development.

With a score of 75, the DTU_DZ_1 team excelled, surpassing their competitors and winning first prize in the open-source software category. Both their score and product were highly praised by the judges.

Recognizing their contributions to the Informatics Olympiad movement, the Vietnam Informatics Association awarded certificates of merit to the team leaders, deputy leaders, and coaches. Among them, Dr. Huynh Ba Dieu, head of the Information Systems and Networks Department (CMU) at the International Training Faculty (IS) of Duy Tan University, received a certificate of merit from the Vietnam Informatics Association for his outstanding contributions in training students to achieve high results in the Vietnamese Student Informatics Olympiad and the International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC).

Accompanying Duy Tan University students to this year's competition, MSc. Nguyen Quoc Long - lecturer in the Information Technology Faculty of DTU - shared his observations on the competition: "This year's topic focuses on developing a Low-code Platform (LCDP) that integrates technologies such as artificial intelligence, real-time data analysis, and digital maps to optimize search, rescue, damage assessment, and resource management."

With strong teams from various universities, consistent and systematic investment, and the constant application of advanced technologies in IT training, Duy Tan University students always have many opportunities to learn and confidently conquer major competitions.

As the leader of the DTU_DZ_1 team, student Le Minh Tuan shared: "With only half a month to build the application, we had to research and master a completely new technological trend. The pressure regarding time, product effectiveness, and the meaningful contribution to the community was immense."

That's what motivated us to work tirelessly and pour all our heart and soul into completing the application. Winning first prize in the competition not only helped us affirm our abilities but also gave us strong confidence that: If we continue to nurture our passion and effort, we can conquer great goals and become even more outstanding individuals on our journey ahead.

We would like to express our sincere gratitude to Mr. Nguyen Quoc Long, M.Sc., our dedicated mentor and partner. For us, he is a great source of inspiration in our professional lives, studies, and personal lives.

"Our professor guided the development of a blockchain-based application for transaction transparency and AI-powered search and rescue, helping the team make a difference. This victory is not only the team's achievement but also a testament to the dedication and responsibility of our professor – the one who instilled in us a passion and commitment."
