The number of hand, foot and mouth disease cases in Hanoi tends to increase.

(PLVN) - According to the Hanoi Center for Disease Control (CDC Hanoi), last week (from April 25 to May 1), the city recorded 313 cases of hand, foot and mouth disease in 29 districts, towns and cities.

Thus, cumulatively in 2025, the whole city recorded 1,819 cases of hand, foot and mouth disease. According to the Hanoi CDC, the number of hand, foot and mouth disease cases tends to increase, mainly sporadic cases, in children ≤ 3 years old (95%), with some outbreaks recorded in kindergartens and the community, and it is predicted that the number of cases will continue to increase.

Regarding measles, this week, Hanoi recorded 191 measles cases, a decrease compared to last week. In 2025, the city recorded 2,265 measles cases.

According to the Hanoi CDC, the measles epidemic has begun to slow down and decrease slightly, mainly in people who have not been vaccinated or have not been fully vaccinated, with an increasing trend in the group over 10 years old, and it is forecasted that cases will continue to be recorded in the coming time.

Also last week, Hanoi recorded 12 cases of dengue fever. In 2025, there were 235 cases, down from the same period in 2024.

On the other hand, last week, Hanoi recorded 1 case of tetanus in a person in Phu Xuyen district. The patient is a 37-year-old male with a history of a wound on his left heel. In 2025, there were 11 cases of tetanus, an increase compared to the same period in 2024.

At the same time, Hanoi also recorded 1 case of rubella in Tay Ho. The patient is a 7-month-old female who has not been vaccinated against rubella.
