The press in Thai Nguyen is bustling.

Never before has the press in Thai Nguyen been as vibrant as it is today. Besides established media outlets such as Thai Nguyen Newspaper and the Provincial Radio and Television Station, offering a full range of media – print, radio, television, and online – there are over 20 other media organizations with representative offices, permanent bureaus, and resident reporters stationed in the province.

In line with the province's development

Over the past period, media outlets in Thai Nguyen province have actively publicized the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses. Not only have they contributed to raising awareness among the entire political system and the people about the importance and significance of the program, but through their work, journalists have also promptly reported on difficulties and obstacles at the grassroots level. This has helped provincial specialized agencies grasp the information and take decisive action.

Besides creating a strong ripple effect for this meaningful program, the media's publicity activities also contributed to helping the province do a good job of social mobilization, encouraging organizations and individuals to accompany and support poor households in Thai Nguyen to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses.

It is gratifying that after nearly a year of implementation, by April 30th, Thai Nguyen had completed the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses for 1,838 households, achieving 100% of the plan and finishing 8 months ahead of the deadline set by the Government . Of these, 1,221 houses were newly built, and 617 were repaired or renovated.

The total project cost was nearly 195 billion VND, of which more than 80% of the resources were mobilized through social contributions, demonstrating a high level of collective strength and community responsibility.

Comrade Nguyen Thanh Binh, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, acknowledged: This achievement is thanks in no small part to the contributions of the press agencies in propaganda work.

The program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses is just one of many policies and initiatives that have been actively publicized by the media in recent times. Making a significant contribution to the province's modernization efforts, the Thai Nguyen press has promptly provided information on the province's policies, projects, and development plans. This useful information has helped people and businesses seize opportunities to plan their investments and development.

Operating from a multi-faceted perspective, the press agencies in the province have played a fairly effective role in reflecting the legitimate aspirations and concerns of the people to the Party, the government at all levels, and political and social organizations. At the same time, they inform readers, radio listeners, and television viewers about economic, social, security, and defense issues in the province and nationwide.

Through the press, many positive examples, new initiatives, and the struggle against and criticism of negative phenomena, corruption, and social issues have been fully, promptly, and accurately reported. This has contributed to promoting emulation movements and fulfilling the province's socio-economic development tasks, especially the implementation of key programs and projects.

Keeping up with modern journalistic trends, reporters at Thai Nguyen Newspaper proactively and flexibly carry out their work.

Actively participate in major "playing fields".

Besides fulfilling their political duties, press agencies in the province have actively participated in journalism competitions organized by the province, the Vietnam Journalists Association, and central ministries and agencies, achieving very positive results.

For example, in the 2024 Golden Hammer and Sickle Journalism Awards for articles on Party building, Thai Nguyen Newspaper had one journalistic work that won the C prize.

The provincial Radio and Television Station has also consistently participated in major national journalism awards ceremonies. At the 2024 National Journalism Awards, the station had two works honored. One won an Encouragement Award in the television category, and the other won a Third Prize in the radio category.

Journalist Manh Nghinh, whose work has been repeatedly recognized at major journalism awards ceremonies, said: "The journalistic environment in Thai Nguyen is becoming increasingly vibrant, especially with participation in national-level journalism awards. To avoid falling behind our colleagues nationwide, journalists like us are constantly striving. In addition to participating in major national-level journalism awards, media agencies also actively respond to journalism competitions organized by the province, such as: Bringing the Provincial Party Committee's Resolution into Life; Protecting the Party's Ideological Foundation; Creating and Promoting Literary, Artistic, and Journalistic Works on the theme "Studying and Following the Thought, Morality, and Style of Ho Chi Minh"...

It is evident that the press in Thai Nguyen is undergoing transformations to keep pace with the general trends of the national press.
