Việt NamViệt Nam05/02/2024

In the festive atmosphere of the Lunar New Year of the Dragon and to celebrate the 94th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam (February 3, 1930 - February 3, 2024), the Culture and Sports sector, along with local authorities, have coordinated the preparation of many cultural and sports activities, contributing to a joyful and enthusiastic atmosphere and enriching the cultural and spiritual life of the people.

In accordance with Document No. 5833/BVHTTDL-VP dated December 29, 2023, from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism regarding strengthening the management and organization of cultural, sports, tourism activities and festivals celebrating the Lunar New Year 2024 (Year of the Dragon), and the directives of the Provincial People's Committee, the Department of Culture and Sports has developed a plan to promote and organize cultural and sports activities to celebrate the Party and the Lunar New Year 2024 (Year of the Dragon). This plan mobilizes the participation of various units within the sector with many rich and attractive contents, such as: organizing cultural and artistic activities, friendly sports competitions, traditional folk games, etc., in districts and cities, with a focus on organizing activities in rural areas and remote regions. In addition to organizing cultural, artistic, and sports activities at the local level, during the period of celebrating the Party and the Lunar New Year, districts and cities, based on the actual situation, will organize cultural and artistic programs to celebrate the Party and the Lunar New Year of the Year of the Dragon 2024 to serve the people.

Ms. Dam Ngoc Hoa, Deputy Director of the Provincial Cultural Center, said: In preparation for cultural and artistic activities to celebrate the Lunar New Year of the Dragon, the Provincial Cultural Center has actively prepared the conditions to participate in two typical activities: the cultural program celebrating the 94th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam on the evening of February 3rd at Thuy Dinh stage, Hoa Lu Ancient Town, and the cultural program at the Spring Newspaper Fair and Fine Arts Exhibition on February 5th at the Provincial Library.

Over the past few days, the Center's traditional arts club has been practicing diligently, hoping to present high-quality and engaging performances, contributing to the success of the province's cultural and sports events. At the Provincial Library, in addition to the familiar displays of newspapers and artworks, this year's exhibition also features a photo-taking corner with accessories reminiscent of Tet celebrations of the past…

Ms. Lai Thu Ha, Deputy Director of the Provincial Library, said: Along with coordinating with the Provincial Journalists Association to organize the opening ceremony of the Spring Newspaper Exhibition and Fine Arts Exhibition directly at the Provincial Library, the unit is also promoting the application of information technology and digital transformation to implement an online Spring Newspaper Exhibition in 120 school libraries in the province that use the Vietbiblio software, giving young readers the opportunity to attend the opening ceremony and find and read publications. After the opening ceremony of the Spring Newspaper Exhibition and Fine Arts Exhibition, the Provincial Library will open its Spring Newspaper Reading Room for the Year of the Dragon 2024 until February 24th (the 15th day of the first lunar month), serving the needs of readers in the province for enjoyment and learning.

In addition, to serve readers who live far away and cannot visit the Provincial Library in person, the unit has organized an online Spring Festival newspaper service at Baoxuanninhbinh.vuc.vn. Readers can find and refer to newspapers from central, ministerial, and provincial/city press agencies, as well as Ninh Binh newspapers. With its scientific and eye-catching presentation, the website is very convenient for readers to search and find information. The organization of the Spring Festival newspaper exhibition and art exhibition contributes to promoting and introducing books, newspapers, and documents about the glorious historical traditions of the Communist Party of Vietnam over the past 94 years; the achievements of the country's renovation; and the glorious traditions and great contributions of the Provincial Party Committee in the revolutionary cause…

With the Lunar New Year (Year of the Dragon) fast approaching, units within the Culture and Sports sector are coordinating with communes, wards, towns, and agencies in the area to organize propaganda activities, cultural and artistic events, and sports activities in a solemn, safe, and effective manner, appropriate to the current situation. At the same time, they are guiding and assisting communes, wards, towns, and residential areas in organizing cultural and artistic exchanges and performances, competitions, and exchanges in modern and traditional sports, as well as folk games at the local level, to celebrate the founding of the Party and to serve the people in enjoying the Spring Festival and welcoming the New Year.

Notable activities include: an art program for the people to celebrate New Year's Eve on the evening of February 9th (the 30th day of the Lunar New Year) in Hoa Lu Ancient Town, Ninh Binh City; an art exhibition of photographs titled "Ninh Binh Landscape and New Rural Areas" at the Yen Khanh District Cultural House to commemorate the 220th anniversary of the name Yen Khanh; film screenings for the people, agencies, units, political and social organizations, etc., featuring films on Vietnamese history and revolution during the celebration of the Party and the Spring Festival; and the organization of mobile film screening teams to serve people in rural areas, remote areas, and coastal regions. A wrestling festival celebrating the Year of the Dragon will be held on February 13th (the 4th day of the Lunar New Year) at the public sports field in Ninh Binh City; and a friendly tennis match is scheduled for February 14th (the 5th day of the Lunar New Year)...

Through organizing cultural, artistic, and sports activities, the Department of Culture and Sports promotes the dissemination and honoring of traditional cultural values, customs, and good practices of the Vietnamese people every time Tet (Lunar New Year) comes around. This is linked to the dissemination of laws on traffic safety, practicing thrift, combating waste, social evils, and commercialization in festival activities taking place before, during, and after Tet; and promoting the joyful atmosphere and activities celebrating the Party and the Spring Festival.

This aims to educate people about patriotism, revolutionary traditions, pride in the 94-year history of building and developing the Communist Party of Vietnam, and the great contributions of the Ninh Binh Provincial Party Committee to the glorious victories of the Vietnamese revolution. It also encourages and motivates cadres, Party members, and all strata of people in the province to compete in achieving accomplishments to celebrate the 94th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam and the Lunar New Year of the Dragon 2024.
