On the afternoon of September 23, Ninh Binh Tourism Association coordinated with the People's Committee of Yen Dong commune, Yen Mo district to conduct a survey of some scenic spots and historical relics to build new tourism products in Yen Dong commune.
The delegation visited Dong Thai Lake and Ma Tien Cave. This is one of the largest natural freshwater lakes in the province with an area of over 2,100 hectares, most of which is located in Yen Dong commune.
Dong Thai Lake is still quite wild and quiet with beautiful valleys interwoven and winding along the clear blue water. When coming here, visitors will be able to immerse themselves in the fresh air and watch flocks of birds flying over the mountain top.
In particular, there is Ma Tien cave - a place to worship the ancient gods who helped people overcome natural disasters and enemies. Unlike other caves, the entrance to Ma Tien cave is not located at the foot of the mountain but is suspended from the mountainside. Inside the cave, there is a system of stalactites with many unique shapes, associated with cultural and spiritual stories of the local people.
During the survey, the delegation members emphasized that this place not only possesses beautiful landscapes but also preserves many unique cultural and historical values. This is the potential and strength for the locality to exploit and develop tourism in the coming time.
However, tourism in Yen Dong is currently only at its potential, and its development is not commensurate with its existing strengths. To exploit this potential, the members of the delegation said that the locality needs to continue to do a good job of protecting the environment, ensuring security and safety, and at the same time restoring and building cultural and historical stories associated with local landscapes and relics. In addition, Yen Dong commune needs to soon study and develop a resolution on tourism development, attracting strategic investors in the tourism sector, etc.
Based on the survey results, the Provincial Tourism Association will support the locality in researching and developing suitable tourism products, first of all exploiting day tours, combining sightseeing with experiencing rural life.
The delegation also spent time visiting and surveying Than Phu seaport, Yen Lam commune. This was a strategic military location, extremely important in ancient times, associated with the famous folk song "Drifting through Than Phu seaport. If you practice skillfully, you will float, if you practice poorly, you will sink".
