3D virtual reality models enable remote purchasing of science and technology products.

In 2024, the headquarters of the Lam Dong Center for Applied Science and Technology (located in Cam Ly Ward, Da Lat) was inaugurated and put into operation, becoming a destination for science enthusiasts to learn about and research science and technology. Spanning 1.38 hectares, this self-contained complex, encompassing laboratories, breeding facilities, nurseries, experimental gardens, production areas, product processing areas, and product showrooms, has created an attractive science tourism tour exploring biotechnology and high-tech agricultural production, which are rapidly developing in Lam Dong.

From reality to virtual reality

In particular, the final destination on this special experiential journey is the exhibition area showcasing products resulting from scientific and technological research projects, where visitors can clearly see the achievements of applying science and technology to daily life. In fact, this is a spacious 180 m² area , professionally designed and arranged using eco-friendly materials, combined with a synchronized lighting and interior design system to create a vibrant and modern exhibition environment. The display cabinets and shelves are flexibly arranged and easily changed according to different themes and product groups: herbs, food, beverages, plants, flowers, etc.

Here, more than 100 typical products, including 4-5 star OCOP products, typical rural agricultural products, local specialties, and products researched and produced by the Center based on the results of scientific and technological projects and tasks, were introduced, leaving a deep impression on thousands of students and making their exploration journey even more fulfilling.

Based on the physical showroom space, a 3D virtual reality showroom model has been designed and operated on a web platform, allowing users to remotely access and tour the simulated showroom. The system also includes interactive functions such as integrated customer support for online searching and ordering, product searching, saving favorites, sharing via social media, or linking to e-commerce channels…

Promoting science and technology products for human health.

When clicking on any product, all the information will appear in full, including: images, detailed descriptions, prices, QR codes, ingredients, uses, target users, instructions, production methods, and the manufacturing company. The elaborate presentation, with specific, detailed, accurate, and scientifically-based information for each product, not only builds customer trust but also provides valuable knowledge across different product categories, such as: biological characteristics and origins of flowers, and the effects of various herbs.

Beyond simply providing a virtual reality experience for visitors to learn about a science and technology center, the virtual reality model has promoted the real values and achievements of applied science and technology research, bringing quality products to consumers that benefit human health. Mr. Nguyen Van Quang, Deputy Director of the Lam Dong Center for Applied Science and Technology, stated: "By operating the 3D virtual reality model, the Center's staff have received in-depth training in product presentation skills, equipment operation, and visitor guidance. This has revolutionized the way we introduce and promote science and technology products, OCOP products, and distinctive agricultural products that are strengths of the locality, while also promoting digital transformation in the field of trade promotion."
