In particular, through the use of digital platforms, people in Dak Phoi commune are not only supported in accessing public administrative procedures and social services, but are also guided in using the Internet safely and effectively to find jobs, learn about production development models, connect to product consumption and share economic experiences.
Guided by commune and village officials, every day Mr. Y Djao Lieng Hot (Pai Ar village) uses social networks to grasp economic, political and social information, especially social security policies for the elderly and people with revolutionary contributions. Mr. Y Djao expressed: “Every day, besides listening to the radio, I also use my smartphone to read newspapers and contact my children and grandchildren. From the information I receive, I know what is good to follow and what is bad to stay away from; from there, I advise and remind my children and grandchildren to comply with policies and guidelines.”
Ms. Le Thi Kieu Oanh has been running a small grocery store in Pai Ar village for more than 3 years. It can be said that digital technology has become a driving force for agricultural development. Specifically, the case of Mr. Trieu Duc Duy's family (Cao Bang village). With 1.5 hectares of production land, up to now, Mr. Duy's crop care has mainly relied on experience. Recently, he was supported by the Dak Lak Provincial Forestry Science and Technology Association with the Enfarm device - a compact handheld device that is directly connected to a smartphone to measure important and complex indicators in the soil. After receiving the device, in addition to being instructed on how to use it by staff, he also used the smartphone to learn more about its features to use it most effectively.
Mr. Hoang Thanh Be, Vice Chairman of Dak Phoi Commune People's Committee, said that to help people reduce information poverty, the commune has developed a plan to support people in using smartphones to implement digital technology applications in administrative procedures, production development, etc. Expanding access to information and digital applications in production is opening up many opportunities to help people not only grasp policies and guidelines, but also confidently improve their livelihoods, take control of their lives, and receive public services equally.
