Ea Kiet promotes propaganda of policies and guidelines

Ea Kiet commune has 24 villages and hamlets with 4,596 households and 19,817 people; of which 11 are ethnic minority villages with 8,343 people, accounting for 42.1% of the commune's population.

According to the local government, out of a total of 394 poor and near-poor households in the commune, there are 179 poor households (of which poor households are ethnic minorities accounting for 72%); 215 near-poor households (of which near-poor ethnic minorities are 139 households, accounting for 64.6%). The local economy mainly relies on agricultural production with the main crops being coffee, pepper and fruit trees.

In recent years, with the attention and close direction of Party committees and authorities at all levels and the implementation of mechanisms and policies of the National Target Program for Socio-Economic Development in Ethnic Minority and Mountainous Areas for the 2021-2030 period (Program 1719), the emulation movement "Joining hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses"..., poor and near-poor households, especially ethnic minorities, have had the conditions to develop production, increase income, and stabilize their lives. Ethnic minorities have had more convenient access to basic social services such as: health care, education , housing, domestic water, environmental sanitation and information, thereby contributing to narrowing the gap in living standards between regions, between Kinh people and ethnic minorities, towards sustainable development.

The Party Committee, People's Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ea Kiet commune together with the mass organizations in the commune, village and hamlet have focused on leading, directing and strengthening the work of information and propaganda of the State's policies and guidelines so that people can promptly grasp, access and implement them in accordance with actual conditions. The propaganda work is carried out in many diverse forms, suitable for each target, thereby contributing to raising awareness and responsibility of the community about Program 1719, the emulation movement to join hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses, creating unity in awareness and action in society, further promoting the role of the people as subjects in participating in and implementing national target programs.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Binh, Vice Chairman of Ea Kiet Commune People's Committee, said: From 2022 to now, Ea Kiet Commune has organized and coordinated propaganda at mass mobilization conferences, propaganda conferences, and legal education dissemination in villages and hamlets for 45 sessions with more than 2,566 participants. In addition, Program 1719, the emulation movement "Join hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses" ... are also propagated on the commune loudspeaker system, focusing on policies, content, beneficiaries ... to help people promptly grasp. Associations and unions also closely coordinate in informing and guiding people, promoting the effectiveness of propaganda work among ethnic minorities in the area.

Implementing Program 1719, in the coming time, Ea Kiet commune will continue to do a good job of propaganda, dissemination and legal education in the field of ethnic affairs; coordinate to mobilize ethnic minorities in the commune to implement the Party's guidelines and policies and the State's laws; at the same time, pay attention to investment and support so that people have conditions to develop the economy and improve their lives.
