Tropical depression approaches Dak Lak - Khanh Hoa sea area

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, the tropical depression (weakened from storm No. 15) is moving rapidly towards the sea of ​​Dak Lak - Khanh Hoa provinces.

At 7:00 a.m. on December 3, the center of the tropical depression was at about 13.3 degrees North latitude; 111.0 degrees East longitude, in the northwest sea area of ​​the central East Sea. The strongest wind near the center of the tropical depression was level 6 (39-49 km/h), gusting to level 8, moving slowly in the southwest direction at a speed of 5-10 km/h.

It is forecasted that by 7 p.m. on December 3, the tropical depression will move southwest at a speed of about 10 km/hour and gradually weaken into a low pressure area over the sea of ​​Dak Lak - Khanh Hoa provinces.

Due to the influence of the tropical depression, the northwest sea area between the East Sea and the sea off the coast of Dak Lak - Khanh Hoa province has strong winds of level 6, gusting to level 8. Waves are 2 - 4 m high, rough seas.

All vessels operating in the above-mentioned dangerous areas are likely to be affected by storms, whirlwinds, strong winds and large waves. The level of natural disaster risk in the sea off the coast of Dak Lak - Khanh Hoa province is warned at Level 3.

Regarding the rain situation, in the past 24 hours (as of 8:00 a.m. on December 3), the eastern region of Dak Lak province has had showers, with some places having heavy rain.

The meteorological agency warned that from the day and night of December 3, the eastern region of Dak Lak province will continue to have moderate to heavy rain with common rainfall from 40 - 100 mm, locally very heavy rain over 150 mm.

Heavy rains are likely to cause flooding in low-lying areas, urban areas and industrial zones. In particular, beware of flash floods on small rivers and streams and landslides on steep slopes.

People in coastal and mountainous areas of Dak Lak province need to closely monitor the next forecast bulletins to proactively take precautions.
