The most modern interchange in Ho Chi Minh City is gradually opening its various sections to traffic.
Speaking with a reporter from Thanh Nien Newspaper, Mr. Huynh Le Cong Truong, Deputy Head of the Specialized Inspection Department (Ho Chi Minh City Department of Construction), said that the most modern intersection in Ho Chi Minh City - the An Phu intersection project (Binh Trung ward, former Thu Duc City) - has been basically completed and some components such as Ba Dat bridge, Giong Ong To bridge and HC1-01 underpass have been put into use.

According to observations by a Thanh Nien newspaper reporter at Ho Chi Minh City's most modern intersection on the afternoon of December 12th, construction was bustling. Workers and machinery were operating continuously, and the overpass and underpass sections were being accelerated to ensure early completion.
The N2 branch of the An Phu interchange has completed its structural joining, finishing the concrete pouring for the bridge deck, and directly connecting the expressway access road to the Mai Chi Tho road.

Specifically, the N2 branch of the An Phu interchange has had its structure completed, the concrete pouring for the bridge deck finished, and it now connects directly from the expressway access road to the Mai Chi Tho road.
From our observation, the contractor is laying crushed stone aggregate for the approach road to the bridge, in preparation for the asphalt paving.
Workers are busy constructing the N2 bridge to ensure it is ready for technical opening to traffic before December 31, 2025.

Waiting for the eastern gateway of Ho Chi Minh City to be cleared once the interchange is completed.
The An Phu intersection project commenced in December 2022 with a total investment of 3,400 billion VND, managed by the Ho Chi Minh City Investment and Construction Management Board for Transportation Projects; initially, it was expected to be completed by the end of 2025.
When the entire An Phu interchange project is completed and put into operation in 2026, it will be synchronized with the My Thuy interchange (in the former Thu Duc City, with the entire project expected to be completed in 2026), significantly reducing congestion in the Cat Lai port area.
Along with the planned commencement of the inter-port road and the expansion of the road connecting to the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay expressway, the eastern gateway to Ho Chi Minh City is expected to become more open and less congested in the near future.
The HC1-02 underpass (next to bridge N2) is expected to be completed before February 17, 2026.

This interchange has a three-tiered traffic system, including: a two-way underpass connecting the expressway via Mai Chi Tho Street (towards the Thu Thiem tunnel) and extending through the Mai Chi Tho - Dong Van Cong intersection; a ground-level traffic island and smaller islands; and two elevated overpasses.
Upon completion, the An Phu interchange is expected to be the most beautiful interchange in the country.

The An Phu interchange project, with its cross-section of 10-12 lanes for the road section, 4 lanes for two-way traffic in the tunnel, and 2 lanes for each branch of the overpass, is expected to be the most modern in Ho Chi Minh City and the most beautiful in the country.
