The Majestic Hotel, built in 1925 in the French architectural style, was located on Dong Khoi Street (formerly Catinat intersection). Initially, the Majestic had 44 guest rooms and quickly became one of Saigon's most luxurious landmarks. After the reunification of the country, the hotel was managed by Saigontourist and renamed Cuu Long Hotel.
In 2007, Majestic Saigon officially achieved 5-star hotel status, becoming the first 5-star hotel entirely managed by Vietnamese people. Reflecting on Majestic's development journey, Mr. Vo Van Nhanh, Director of Majestic Saigon Hotel, stated that the hotel team is committed to continuing its efforts in sustainable development, enhancing 5-star service quality, investing in facilities, promoting digital transformation, and preserving the distinctive heritage values that have built the Majestic brand over the past century.

The highlight that attracted many locals and tourists during this time was the pair of giant dragons placed in front of the hotel's main lobby, at the intersection of Dong Khoi and Ton Duc Thang streets (Ho Chi Minh City). The dragons, crafted entirely from fruit, each approximately 30 meters long, were created by over 40 artisans working continuously for three days. The dragons' heads can move as if welcoming visitors, creating a lively and impressive atmosphere.
