According to Tran Tuan Anh, Director of the Hanoi Cultural and Library Center, the 2025 Public Speaking Contest not only seeks contestants with excellent public speaking and argumentation skills, but more importantly, contributes to fostering critical thinking, confidence, a sense of responsibility, and a desire to contribute – essential qualities of Hanoi citizens in the new era. The contest also serves as an intellectual forum, creating an environment for young people to hone and develop the necessary skills for the new era.

Through this forum, the organizers hope to contribute to the formation of a generation of confident, creative, humane, and integrated young people; who dare to speak up and defend their views with knowledge and a sense of responsibility; and who proactively propose practical solutions for the development of the capital city.
“I believe that the teams participating in the final round will continue to demonstrate the courage and intelligence of Hanoi's young generation, inheriting the values of a thousand years of culture, while steadfastly moving towards the future with the aspiration to build a prosperous, civilized, and modern capital city,” said Mr. Tran Tuan Anh.
According to the organizers, throughout the competition period, it attracted more than 100 teams from high schools, colleges, universities, and many youth organizations in the city, demonstrating the level of interest and proactive participation of young people in academic and social activities.

From the preliminary round held from December 5th to 7th, the judging panel selected 24 teams to advance to the final round. All teams demonstrated a good understanding of Hanoi's issues, multi-faceted analytical skills, and a sense of responsibility towards the city's development.
According to assessments, this year's debate topics were open-ended and clearly reflected young people's concerns about contemporary issues. The group of topics on identity and heritage included "The Capital City Through a Crooked Lens - Can 15 Seconds Decide 1,000 Years of Civilization?", "The Fortress of Identity", "Renewing Heritage or Degrading Culture?", and "Preserving the Vietnamese Soul Amidst the Global Flow".
The theme of integration and foreign languages features prominent topics such as "Foreign Languages - A Bridge to Integration" and "English Brings Hanoi's Heritage to the World ".
The field of technology and digital media is explored through "Technology connecting communities and cultures," "Online etiquette," and "The oversaturated generation: What are we 'eating' online?".

In addition, the participating teams also focused on social responsibility themes such as "Living Green," "Youth Serving the Community," and "Respecting Diversity and Differences"...
The 2025 public speaking competition is organized to create a forum for young people to hone their critical thinking, information analysis skills, and communication skills – essential competencies in the context of integration.
Following the competition, the Organizing Committee will implement a series of follow-up activities to spread the program's values, including: Introducing and honoring outstanding contestants on various media platforms; building a forum for networking and supporting skill development; encouraging participation in creative and volunteer activities for the community; and forming a network of "Oratory Ambassadors" to accompany youth programs in the next phase.
