A golden day for female karate fighters.
Vietnamese karate had a successful day of competition on December 13th, with female fighters winning two gold medals thanks to impressive performances in the finals.
In the women's 61 kg kumite final, Hoang Thi My Tam faced Thai fighter Maneevan. Despite conceding the first point, My Tam quickly regained control, scoring two consecutive points to take a 2-1 lead. The Vietnamese fighter then launched a dominant attack and secured a 11-2 victory, winning the gold medal.

The head of the Vietnamese delegation and the karate athletes who won gold medals include My Tam, Dinh Thi Huong, and Nguyen Thanh Truong.

My Tam won the gold medal in two consecutive SEA Games.
In the women's 68 kg kumite final, Dinh Thi Huong also brought home another gold medal for Vietnamese karate. In the final match against Indonesian fighter Yefanza, Dinh Thi Huong was trailing in the early stages but showed great composure, successfully turning the tide to win 8-5.

Dinh Thi Huong is currently in very high and consistent form.

Dinh Thi Huong won the gold medal in 2023 at the SEA Games in Cambodia.
Both Vietnamese female karate athletes have shown consistency and maintained high performance across two consecutive SEA Games. At the 32nd SEA Games, Dinh Thi Huong defeated her Philippine opponent to win the gold medal in the women's kumite under 68 kg category. Meanwhile, Hoang Thi My Tam also had a very successful 32nd SEA Games, winning gold medals in both the individual and team events. At the 33rd SEA Games, My Tam continued her success by winning another gold medal in the individual event.
