This morning, December 13th, the London College of Design and Fashion (Hanoi), abbreviated as LCDF, posted an announcement on its website regarding the recognition of diplomas and training programs. In the letter, the school explained why the Ministry of Education and Training did not recognize the diplomas and training programs related to the school, including the bachelor's degree awarded by Liverpool John Moores University, and apologized to the students.

For the first time, LCDF has officially announced the incident regarding diplomas issued by foreign partners to the school's students that are not recognized by the Ministry of Education and Training.

The announcement stated: "The school acknowledges the shortcomings in the process of updating Vietnamese regulations and apologizes for not promptly informing students transferring to undergraduate programs at UK universities about the fact that these programs do not yet meet the requirements for official recognition in Vietnam."
Although the universities recommended by LCDF are prestigious, reputable universities with degrees recognized in many major countries around the world , according to current regulations, they still have to meet requirements for accreditation, through a complex process, before being officially recognized by the Ministry of Education and Training.
Following the apology, the announcement shared some information about the school's history and operations, the dedication of foreign investors in helping Vietnamese students access advanced education and international integration, and the achievements in training...
The announcement then returned to the main point, stating that the school was actively coordinating with the British Embassy and engaging with the Ministry of Education and Training and relevant management agencies to find a solution, with the top priority being to ensure the best interests of the students.
The announcement stated: "We are committed to reviewing our entire legal process to ensure that academic information is always up-to-date and accurate."
The school sincerely apologizes for the incident that has caused anxiety to students and parents. We hope to continue receiving detailed guidance from the relevant authorities, especially during this current period…”.
A similar announcement was also posted on the school's fan page. However, the announcement on the school's website was made by Anna Baranowska, Head of Academic Cooperation, while the announcement on the fan page was made by the Principal for External Relations, Douglas Maclennan, and the Executive Director, Ha Thi Hang.
