Can Tho University, in collaboration with the National Center for Examination and Educational Quality Assessment under the Department of Quality Management ( Ministry of Education and Training ), organized a conference to summarize the 2025 V-SAT exam results and implement the 2026 plan.
This is an important professional event for higher education institutions, aiming to comprehensively evaluate the results of organizing the Computer-Based University Entrance Aptitude Test (V-SAT), a crucial component in reforming university admissions with a focus on enhancing objectivity, standardization, and integration.
Attending the conference, on behalf of the Ministry of Education and Training were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Anh Dung, Deputy Director of the Department of Higher Education; Dr. Ha Xuan Thanh, Director of the National Center for Examination and Educational Quality Assessment, Department of Quality Management; and Dr. Phuong Phu Cong, Head of the Examination Management Division, Department of Quality Management.
Representing Can Tho University were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Trung Tinh, Rector; representatives from the Training Department and other relevant units. Notably, the event was attended by representatives from the leadership and Board of Directors of 10 higher education institutions organizing the V-SAT exam in 2025, along with 9 institutions using V-SAT scores in university admissions in 2025 and those planning to organize the V-SAT exam in 2026.


The 2025 V-SAT exam marks a significant leap forward in scale and quality, with tens of thousands of candidates participating at testing sites nationwide, further affirming the prestige, transparency, and organizational capacity of the coordinating units. The conference provides an opportunity for management agencies, higher education institutions, and exam organizing units to exchange experiences, analyze results, and discuss strategic solutions to improve the quality of the exam in the coming years.
In 2025, 10 institutions collaborated to organize the exam, including: Can Tho University, Thai Nguyen University, Banking Academy, Ho Chi Minh City University of Banking, Saigon University, Dong Thap University, Ho Chi Minh City Open University, University of Finance - Marketing, Hung Yen University of Technology and Education, and Van Lang University; with 36 exam sessions organized, attracting 142,113 candidates nationwide. Of these, Can Tho University alone had 81,067 candidates – the highest number nationwide, accounting for 57%. The exam sessions were assessed as being organized seriously and conveniently for the candidates.
To prepare for university admissions from 2026 onwards, the National Center for Examination and Educational Quality Assessment continues to review, update, and develop a standardized question bank that is more aligned with the competency assessment of high school students under the current General Education Program; the proportion of knowledge units is allocated appropriately, helping to classify and rank candidates according to their abilities, creating a basis for selection into suitable majors and groups of majors; and meeting the increasingly high demands of university admissions.
According to Dr. Ha Xuan Thanh, Director of the National Center for Examination and Educational Quality Assessment, Department of Quality Management (Ministry of Education and Training), exam grading will prioritize centralized grading in Hanoi; in cases where grading is done locally, there will be a strict monitoring mechanism, and AI may be applied to ensure transparency. Speaking at the conference, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Anh Dung, Deputy Director of the Department of Higher Education (Ministry of Education and Training), highly appreciated the V-SAT exam – a humane method, with reasonable costs, creating opportunities for candidates in remote areas, while also meeting the need to assess competence for specialized fields.
