Encourage good work.

Recently, during the weekly flag-raising ceremony at Tran Van On Primary School (Dong Hung Thuan Ward), Tran Gia Hy, a student in class 4/8, received a letter of commendation from the school's Board of Directors for his honest act of finding and returning 80,000 VND to its owner. The letter, framed in glass, was handed to him in front of the entire school, creating a touching moment for teachers and students alike. A small but meaningful act, it has become an example that spreads humanistic values within the educational environment.

Principal Nguyen Vinh Bao Chau stated that in the 2025-2026 school year, the school will for the first time implement a model of honoring outstanding students and teachers, with the goal of building a "happy school" and promoting positive actions and good attitudes among students. This movement will be carried out in parallel with monthly educational themes and special recognitions for good deeds or outstanding achievements. Each class and group will nominate outstanding individuals for the school to decide on commendations.

The school places the honor roll in a prominent location so that teachers, students, and parents can easily follow it. Information about the commendations is also posted on the school's website and Facebook page. Outstanding teachers are recognized in front of the teaching staff and receive encouraging awards, while outstanding students are honored during class meetings, adding to their joy and pride.

“In fact, recognition is not only for students with high academic achievements but also stems from good deeds in daily life such as returning lost items, picking up litter, helping teachers and friends... The school has opened many channels to receive information from the Head Teacher in charge of the Youth Union, homeroom teachers to the Principal to promptly acknowledge good deeds. Thanks to this, the movement to do good deeds is vibrant, and students come to school with enthusiasm and a positive attitude,” Ms. Chau emphasized.

At Phu Tho Primary School (Phu Tho Ward), the movement to honor outstanding students has been implemented for many years. Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Huong, the school's principal, said that timely rewards are especially significant in building a positive, humane, and inspiring educational environment.

Every timely reward and recognition is not only a source of encouragement but also sends the message that all of the students' efforts are appreciated. When students are commended, they clearly feel the value of their hard work, thereby forming intrinsic motivation to continue striving and spreading the spirit of learning and creativity within the group.

“The recognition activities also contribute to forming a culture of fair and transparent praise and criticism in the school, creating a happy, motivating, and creative educational environment, promoting sustainable improvement in teaching and learning quality. When each individual feels recognized, the whole group will work towards a common goal: every day at school is a joyful day, and every achievement is a shared pride of the school we learn from and love,” Ms. Huong expressed.

Combating school violence remotely.

The movement "Building Beautiful Friendships, Preventing School Violence" has now spread strongly in many schools in Ho Chi Minh City. Educational institutions organize thematic programs, competitions, and use real-life scenarios to help students control their emotions, resolve conflicts, and guide them on civilized attitudes and behavior when living in a group environment. Teachers also point out inappropriate and offensive behaviors in the school environment, guiding students to build beautiful friendships and prevent school violence.

At Nguyen Thi Dieu High School (Xuan Hoa Ward), moral and lifestyle education is promoted through practical experiential activities and thematic programs. Each school year, the school organizes an extracurricular activity titled "Building Beautiful Friendships, Saying No to School Violence" to help students develop skills in building healthy relationships.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Tuong Minh, the school's Vice Principal, stated that the work of preventing school violence is implemented based on three main groups of activities: propaganda, education, and developing situational handling skills.

“In particular, in November 2025, the school organized a legal awareness program in the form of a ‘mock trial’ with the theme ‘Preventing and combating school violence through cyberspace’. Every activity, program, and topic organized by the school has been actively embraced by the students. Many students enjoyed the opportunity to directly exchange ideas with teachers about building a happy school environment, while also gaining knowledge of the law and skills to prevent violence. Through this, they also shared their perspectives and resolved questions about many issues related to school life,” Ms. Tuong Minh said.

Similarly, at Tran Quang Khai High School ( Hoa Binh ward), the school has promoted the movement "Building beautiful friendships, preventing school violence" through various forms such as class activities, flag-raising ceremonies, integration into subjects, and theatrical performances.

Mr. Nguyen Tan Tai, the school principal, emphasized: “Through practical implementation, the movement has yielded positive results in creating a safe and healthy school environment, building positive friendships, and minimizing violence. This effectiveness is demonstrated through increased bonding and solidarity in collective activities, helping students develop life skills, clearly understand the harmful effects of violence, and comply well with school rules.”

From a student's perspective, Le Tran Gia Anh, class 11T02 of Nguyen Thi Dieu High School, shared: “School violence is always a hot topic that I and my classmates are concerned about. Participating in forums or mock trials is very exciting because we get to talk with teachers and experts about positive aspects in building a happy school environment, and also learn more about legal regulations and ways to prevent school violence.”

“The recognition model has had a positive effect. Students are more motivated to improve, teachers feel appreciated, and parents feel reassured and proud when their children are recognized, even for the smallest things. This is a suitable direction, helping to build a humane school environment and spread the spirit of 'emphasizing the good and eliminating the bad' throughout the school,” shared Ms. Nguyen Vinh Bao Chau.
