The Huynh Thien Nghe Martyr Scholarship provides support to poor students in An Giang province.

On the morning of December 13th, at An Giang University (Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City), the An Giang Provincial Association for the Promotion of Learning held the 18th Huynh Thien Nghe Martyr Scholarship Award Ceremony for the 2025-2026 academic year, awarding scholarships to 57 disadvantaged students in An Giang province.

Accordingly, for the 2025-2026 academic year, the Huynh Thien Nghe Martyrs' Scholarship Fund has reviewed and awarded 50 scholarships to disadvantaged students who have excelled in their studies in An Giang province, including: 5 students from the High School of Pedagogical Practice (An Giang University), each scholarship worth 1 million VND; 10 students from Kien Giang University, 20 students from An Giang University, 10 students from An Giang Vocational College, and 5 students from An Giang Provincial Medical College, each scholarship worth 2 million VND.

In addition, the Huynh Thien Nghe Martyrs' Scholarship Fund also provided support to 5 teachers in An Giang province who are in difficult circumstances and have achieved many accomplishments in teaching during the 2024-2025 school year, with each scholarship worth 3 million VND.

On this occasion, the An Giang Provincial Association for the Promotion of Learning and Mr. Tran Van Truyen (residing in Ho Chi Minh City) also awarded one scholarship to Phan Ngoc Khoi Nguyen, a third-year student at An Giang University, for the 2025-2026 academic year, worth 8 million VND; along with six scholarships (each worth 8 million VND) to students from An Giang province studying at universities inside and outside An Giang province who are facing difficulties but are striving to excel in their studies.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Dang Giai, Vice Chairman of the An Giang Provincial Association for the Promotion of Learning, said that the Huynh Thien Nghe Martyr Scholarship Fund was established by the family of martyr Huynh Thien Nghe, from My Hiep commune, Cho Moi district (now Cu Lao Gieng commune), An Giang province, with the desire to contribute a small part to the cause of "nurturing talent" in his homeland of An Giang.

Every year, the family and descendants of martyr Huynh Thien Nghe donate a sum of money to the An Giang Provincial Education Promotion Fund to provide scholarships to students from disadvantaged backgrounds who strive for academic excellence and achieve good or excellent academic results, thereby enabling them to continue their education.

From 2008 to the present, the Huynh Thien Nghe Martyrs' Scholarship Fund has donated over 1.643 billion VND to the An Giang Provincial Education Promotion Fund; awarded scholarships to 1,241 poor students and students from disadvantaged backgrounds who have overcome difficulties in their studies; and supported 52 teachers and one scientific researcher who are facing difficult circumstances but have strived to excel and achieved many accomplishments in teaching and research. Through this, the fund has contributed to the province's efforts in caring for and training human resources, nurturing talent, and developing the local education system.
