According to the draft, the Raglai language curriculum is designed for 5 grades (from grade 1 to grade 5 in primary school) with a total duration of 350 lessons; the duration for each school year is 70 lessons, distributing reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills across each grade.
The Raglai language curriculum adheres to the basic regulations outlined in the 2018 General Education Program (Circular No. 32/2018/BGDĐT). The program is built on theoretical and practical foundations, incorporating the latest research achievements in psychology, linguistics, and education.
With the development of communication skills (reading, writing, speaking, and listening) as the central focus throughout primary school, the program simultaneously integrates language knowledge with Raglai cultural knowledge, thereby contributing to the formation and development of comprehensive qualities and competencies for students.
The program is designed to be open-ended, as evidenced by the fact that it does not specify detailed teaching content but only outlines the required learning outcomes in reading, writing, speaking, and listening for each class; it also specifies some basic knowledge of the Raglai language.
The program uses the Raglai alphabet according to Decision No. 383/QD-UBND Ninh Thuan dated October 8, 2019 - Decision on approving the Raglai alphabet of Ninh Thuan province (formerly), which will be adopted by Khanh Hoa province from July 2025.
The Raglai language course is an elective subject within the field of language and literature education, taught from grades 1 to 5 (primary school). The course caters to the desire of Raglai students to learn the Raglai language.
This subject aims to develop language skills (in the Raglai language) to help students communicate within the Raglai community and expand their ability to access knowledge and culture of the Raglai ethnic group.
The Raglai language subject primarily uses Raglai literary and artistic materials for teaching, aiming to contribute to educating students about the cultural and linguistic values of the Raglai ethnic group, and to foster in students an awareness of preserving, protecting, and developing Raglai culture in harmony with the cultures of other ethnic groups in Vietnam.
