On the afternoon of December 13th, head coach Mai Duc Chung, along with striker and captain Pham Hai Yen, attended the press conference ahead of the SEA Games 33 women's football semi-final match, where the Vietnamese women's team will face the Indonesian women's team. "The semi-final match against Indonesia will be very interesting. This is a team that has improved rapidly compared to what I've known before. Previously, Indonesia had never reached the semi-finals of the SEA Games, but now they have undergone many noticeable changes. Compared to the team we faced at the AFF Cup in Hai Phong , Indonesia is now very different, especially with the inclusion of naturalized players bringing new energy," coach Mai Duc Chung commented.

According to Mr. Chung, Indonesia has made significant adjustments to their squad, replacing six players, including four naturalized players. This has made their playing style more physically demanding, leaning towards long balls and aerial challenges. However, the veteran coach affirmed that the Vietnamese women's national team has thoroughly studied their opponent and has a suitable counter-strategy.

"Indonesia may play long balls and are good at heading, but we in Vietnam don't play long balls; instead, we prioritize coordination, control, and quick pressing. The coaching staff has thoroughly analyzed the opponent, especially their tall and strong players. We will maximize our strengths and maintain our best form. Even though the opponent has many naturalized players, I still believe Vietnam will win," Coach Mai Duc Chung affirmed.

When asked if he was concerned about Indonesia's squad of naturalized players, Mr. Chung continued to express his determination and belief in the team's fighting spirit. "I promise the fans that even against a strong opponent, no less formidable than the Philippines, a team with many foreign players, with the spirit, willpower, determination, and qualities of Vietnamese women, the players will know how to leverage their collective strength to achieve the best possible result," Mr. Chung emphasized.

From a player's perspective, captain Pham Hai Yen stated that the entire team is thoroughly prepared and highly motivated for the crucial match. "The semi-final is similar to the previous matches; the coaching staff has given very detailed instructions and ensured meticulous preparation. We are always instilled with the right spirit, so that when we step onto the field, we will play with the highest determination to win," Pham Hai Yen shared.

According to the schedule, the semi-final match between the Vietnam Women's National Team and the Indonesia Women's National Team will take place at 4:00 PM on December 14th at the National Sports University Stadium (Chonburi). This is expected to be an exciting match, where the Vietnam Women's National Team aims to secure a place in the SEA Games 33 final.
