Son La arrests subjects illegally trading drugs in border areas

On July 7, information from the Son La Provincial Border Guard Command said that the unit coordinated to arrest a subject for illegal drug trafficking in the border commune of Phieng Khoi.

At 8:00 p.m. on July 6, at Keo Muong village, Phieng Khoi commune, Son La province, Chieng On Border Guard Station and the Professional Department, Son La Provincial Border Guard Command coordinated with Phieng Khoi commune police to arrest Giang Thi Mang, born in 1980, residing in Hang Can village, Phieng Khoi commune, Son La province, for illegal drug trafficking.

The seized evidence included 1,200 synthetic drug pills and about 200 grams of opium resin. Giang Thi Mang is a long-time addict. Because she needed money to buy drugs for daily use, she went to the border to buy drugs to sell for profit.

Currently, the anti-drug force and the Border Guard of Son La province are continuing to investigate according to their authority.
