The new Harry Potter has been revealed.

HBO has just released the first image of the "boy wizard" in the Harry Potter television series. The series is scheduled to premiere in 2027.

Nearly 14 years after the final film in the series , Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 , was released, a new film adaptation has officially begun production at Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden in England.

The first image of Dominic McLaughlin as Harry Potter has also been revealed by the studio. The young actor appears in a school uniform with his signature round glasses. Along with Arabella Stanton as Hermione Granger and Alastair Stout as Ron Weasley, Dominic McLaughlin will be three of the stars in the new adaptation series. They passed the highly competitive casting process, which is estimated to have attracted over 30,000 applicants.

Several new cast members have also been announced, including Rory Wilmot as Neville Longbottom, Amos Kitson as Dudley Dursley, Louise Brealey as Madam Rolanda Hooch, and Anton Lesser as Garrick Ollivander. The series has also been confirmed to premiere in 2027 on HBO.

HBO's new version is based on the series adapted from the famous novels by author J.K. Rowling, revolving around the main character, Harry Potter, and his memorable semesters at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and his battle against the dark forces led by Lord Voldemort.

Each book in the Harry Potter series will be adapted into a complete season. According to Variety, production of the first season is expected to run until spring 2026. Season 2 will begin after a short break. The production timeline is carefully calculated to accommodate the growth and maturation of the child actors.
