AI technology startup Hay has just announced the completion of its Series A funding round with a total amount of 10 million USD . Argor Capital acted as the lead investor in this round.
Existing investors include Square Peg, Northstar Ventures, Appworks, and Phoenix Holdings. The total capital raised by the company has reached more than $18 million .
AI Hay was founded in 2022 by a team of engineers with experience building large digital platforms. The app was first launched in June 2024. This is a question-and-answer app, in which AI will use reputable sources to synthesize and provide information.
After one year of operation, the platform has achieved impressive numbers. The application has more than 10 million downloads and successfully processes more than 100 million questions per month.
According to statistics platform Sensor Tower , AI Hay is in the top 5 AI Q&A apps with the highest monthly users in Southeast Asia on both Android and iOS platforms, after big names like ChatGPT, Google Gemini, DeepSeek and CharacterAI. This is also the only Vietnamese app in the group.
AI Hay representative said this investment is an "important milestone" to help the company realize its goals.
CEO Tran Quang Duc said the company will use the new capital to expand operations. They plan to develop a new web platform and features.
AI Hay also plans to bring AI deeper into the fieldsof education and entertainment. The company wants to build more AI assistants to make it easier for Vietnamese people to access this technology.
According to a report by the National Innovation Center (NIC), Vietnam has 27% of the total number of AI startups born in ASEAN. Vietnamese AI startups raised 780 million USD in 2024. This figure ranked second in the region, only after Singapore.
The AI sector is forecast to contribute 120-130 billion USD to the Vietnamese economy by 2040. The startup ecosystem is considered an important component driving this development.
