On the afternoon of May 5th, CAHN traveled to Tam Ky Stadium for the last match of Round 21 of the V.League 2024/2025. Theoretically, the Hanoi team still has a chance to win the championship, but to achieve that goal they need to beat Quang Nam . If they lose, Quang Hai and his teammates will almost certainly lose all hope of competing for the title.

Coach Polking's team has been in impressive form recently. After defeating Hai Phong FC to reach the semi-finals of the National Cup, Coach Polking's team continued their winning streak with a victory against PSSM Makassar in the second leg of the semi-finals of the Southeast Asian Club Championship. In their last five matches, the team from the capital city has maintained an unbeaten streak with four wins.
However, the true strength of CAHN remains questionable as they are lacking a key striker. Since Leo Artur has been unavailable, CAHN's attacking power has significantly decreased, posing a difficult problem for coach Polking. Nevertheless, the former Thailand national team coach seems to have found the solution in CAHN's victory over PSM Makassar in the second leg of the 2024/2025 Southeast Asian Club Championship semi-finals. In that match, both of CAHN's goals were scored by central defenders.
And in today's match, coach Polking continued with a similar, even bolder, strategy by fielding a starting lineup without a single true striker. Both foreign striker Thaileon and number 99 Nguyen Van Vinh were kept on the bench.

The reality on the field showed that, despite starting proactively, Quang Hai and his teammates faced real difficulties against the home team Quang Nam's defense. The Central Vietnam representatives tried to block every route to goalkeeper Van Cong's goal. By the 40th minute, CAHN had 12 shots on goal, but the goal still eluded the visitors. Perhaps the most controversial situation was Quang Hai's shot in the first half while being tightly marked. The number 19 midfielder of CAHN seemed to be pulled from behind by a Quang Nam foreign player but still managed to take a shot while struggling.
Just when it seemed the first half would end in a draw, CAHN unexpectedly scored. Defender Van Phuong delivered a perfectly placed cross from the left wing towards the far post, allowing midfielder Pham Minh Phuc, wearing number 22, to volley the ball into the net against Quang Nam. The opening goal, scored with contributions from both a defender and a midfielder, proved that Coach Polking's selection was entirely correct.

After the break, coach Polking continued to demonstrate his tactical prowess by bringing on midfielder Pendant Quang Vinh and striker Thaileon. The visitors quickly saw positive results as the two players combined to allow CAHN's number 7 to score, doubling the lead. It's also worth noting that this was Pendant Quang Vinh's first goal in the V.league 2024/2025 season.
In the 88th minute, another substitute for CAHN added his name to the scoresheet, and this time it was another midfielder. It was Le Pham Thanh Long, the visiting team's number 11, who easily finished from close range despite being surrounded by many Quang Nam defenders.
A resounding 3-0 victory against Quang Nam propelled CAHN to 5th place in the V.league 2024/2025 standings. More importantly, this win once again demonstrated coach Polking's skillful ability to adapt and rotate the squad. With this strategist's talent, CAHN can certainly hope to finish this season with at least one title.
