According to data from the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, during the April 30th - May 1st holiday this year, the entire province welcomed 228,000 visitors and overnight stays, with an average room occupancy rate of approximately 75-95% on peak days (April 30th - May 3rd), and estimated revenue reaching 450 billion VND.

This positive result is due not only to favorable transportation conditions with the opening of two expressways, pleasant weather, long holidays, and increased demand for beach and island tourism , but also to the proactive organization of many attractive events and activities by Binh Thuan province, which have contributed to attracting a large number of visitors.

Organizing events to promote the image and attract tourists is an effective method that has been implemented by many localities. To commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of Binh Thuan province (April 19, 1975 – April 19, 2025), the province organized numerous cultural, sports , and artistic activities to celebrate the major holiday. For example: a high-altitude fireworks display along Nguyen Tat Thanh Street in Phan Thiet City; a photo exhibition; a display and introduction of commercial and tourism products with the theme "Binh Thuan – 50 years of construction, innovation, and development"; the Binh Thuan Hot Air Balloon Festival 2025; the Binh Thuan Province Open Off-Road Motorcycle Race on Sand "Bau Trang Enduro 2025"; and the final round of the Binh Thuan Province Band and Dance Group Festival…

During the recent April 30th - May 1st holiday, Binh Thuan also hosted many attractive activities: water sports (kitesurfing, windsurfing, surfing, parasailing, jet skiing), the Ca Ty River boat race festival, 3D mapping and art performances, the kite festival, and the unique Summer Fest 2025 series of events. These events made the tourists' vacation even more vibrant, fresh, and memorable.

However, according to many tourists, Binh Thuan has the advantage of long stretches of beach and many picturesque sand dunes, making it very suitable for organizing large-scale music events and developing them into unique brands, similar to what other provinces and cities have successfully done: Da Nang with its International Fireworks Festival, Nha Trang with its Sea Festival, Da Lat with its Flower Festival, and Vung Tau organizing many major music events with famous singers… Music events held in these provinces and cities have been successful, attracting tens of thousands of spectators to watch, cheer, and immerse themselves in the vibrant musical atmosphere. It's worth remembering that Binh Thuan once held a hot air balloon show, creating a unique impression during its first event at Doi Duong beach in March 2023, to celebrate the opening ceremony of the National Tourism Year “Binh Thuan - Green Convergence”. Images of tourists checking in with hot air balloons flooded social media platforms, contributing to promoting Binh Thuan as a beautiful, hospitable, and welcoming province.

Encourage tourism businesses to develop and diversify their programs.

But that's still not enough, not enough to fully utilize the existing potential and advantages. At a recent meeting, the leaders of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism also outlined a plan for tourism growth in the second quarter with many outstanding events such as: organizing the largest Dragon Fruit Festival, organizing special music programs with famous music groups… Also at this meeting, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee stated that, with the goal of attracting 10.6 million tourists by the end of 2025, and achieving a total retail sales and service revenue of over 125,000 billion VND, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism needs to implement tourism stimulus programs, reduce prices for services, accommodation, food, and transportation during upcoming holidays. In addition, implement summer programs, promote events, and plan unique cultural and sports programs in the second quarter, such as the seafood festival and marine sports. Specifically, plan locations and connect with organizers for weekly music nights, similar to the "May Lang Thang" program, which has been successful in many provinces and cities. These music events will connect tourism quickly, effectively, and sustainably. Furthermore, Binh Thuan needs to take the lead in developing a "1 journey, 3 destinations" tour: Binh Thuan – Lam Dong – Dak Nong with unique activities and events… Encourage tourism businesses to diversify new tourism programs and products, invest in upgrading the quality of accommodation services, and improve professionalism in tourism services…

Through these events, Binh Thuan aims to affirm that the province is not only a beach resort destination but also a constantly evolving and attractive place with diverse cultural, tourism, and sports activities to attract and retain tourists for longer periods. To achieve this, Binh Thuan's tourism sector needs to make breakthroughs, implement more decisive and open policies, and ensure that visitors have the most fulfilling experiences.
