After a long hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this year, with the Ninh Binh Tourism Week being held, the "Photo Tour" program has become a "photography festival" for those who are passionate about traveling, exploring nature, and love taking photos to reunite.
Just after 4:30 a.m., Mr. Chu Tan Thanh, along with a group of artists from the NiCaSo Photography Club ( Hanoi ), arrived at the Department of Tourism to register and obtain delegate cards for the Photo Tour program.
Mr. Thanh shared that he arrived yesterday, but unfortunately missed the dress rehearsal for the opening ceremony. Therefore, he planned to leave early this morning to find beautiful spots for taking photos. For photography, the moment is crucial…
On the opening day of Ninh Binh Tourism Week, with favorable weather, the vast rice fields in Tam Coc are adorned with a golden hue, signaling the arrival of another bountiful rice harvest. This is one of the elements that makes Ninh Binh tourism so special and beloved by visitors.
Mr. Chu Van Nhiu, a local resident who provides boat services for the group of photographers, announced, "In Tam Coc, people only plant rice during the spring crop, which is in May. During the autumn crop in October, the water level rises, so people don't plant. Therefore, tourists visiting Ninh Binh who want to see the golden rice fields of Tam Coc can only do so during May. This is also the time when the rice fields are at their most beautiful, attracting the most tourists to come here to take pictures."
While participating in a photography tour on a mountain peak, and waiting for a dragon boat to glide along the Ngo Dong River, Thanh Dung, a photographer from Quang Ninh province, commented: "Photography tourism is inherently a tourism product, especially in this era of booming science and technology, where everyone can take photos with a smartphone. The power of media makes Tam Coc, already beautiful, even more famous. The Ninh Binh Tourism Week 2023 - 'Golden Colors of Tam Coc - Trang An' - includes many activities, among which the 'Golden Season of Tam Coc' photo tour will be a very strong information channel for the locality to continue promoting this scenic spot."
The photographers participating in the Photo Tour all shared the same feeling: the Tam Coc rice fields this year are absolutely stunning, with favorable weather, blue skies and white clouds, and the rice paddies in their ripening stage, turning a vibrant red... From above, the image of the Ngo Dong River resembles a soft, gentle silk ribbon draped over the golden rice fields, winding around the verdant mountains.
"The rice fields of Tam Coc are already beautiful, and will become even more so in the coming days. When the rice ripens, it forms a golden carpet, stretching softly along the water's edge and reaching the foot of the mountains. Farmers whose rice ripens first harvest it first. At that time, the rice fields will have interwoven 'blocks' of color, like piano keys," shared Hoang Cuong, from the Co Lau Photography Club, sharing his experience as someone who has participated in photo tours for many years.
Tam Coc during the golden season has its own unique charm, which is why many photographers decide to stay for a few days to wait for the moment when the rice fields turn golden at their most beautiful – a sight not every day. According to information, the photo tour documenting the "Golden Season of Tam Coc" lasts about a week, ending when farmers finish harvesting the May rice crop.
| The "Golden Season of Tam Coc" photo tour is one of the most meaningful and attractive activities of Ninh Binh Tourism Week. This year's event attracted nearly 130 photographers from groups, associations, photography clubs, and newspapers nationwide, and catered to those who enjoy traveling, exploring nature, and love the "art of light," allowing them to satisfy their creativity through these trips. |
