Before Typhoon Wipha (Typhoon No. 3) made landfall, a giant "cloud wall" stretching across the sky was filmed in Hainan Province, Southern China.
In Guangdong, people also recorded the scene of a giant black cloud approaching Zhuhai city, the scene looked like a "doomsday" scene in a movie.
Typhoon Wipha, China's sixth typhoon of the year, made landfall near Jiangmen City, Guangdong at around 5:50 p.m. on July 20, putting Hainan, Guangdong and Guangxi provinces on high alert.
At 8:15 p.m. on July 20, the storm made its second landfall on mainland China at Hailing Island, Yangjiang City, Guangdong Province, according to information from the China Central Meteorological Station on July 21.
On the morning of July 21, the storm's center was determined to be in Toai Khe district, Tram Giang city, Guangdong province.
According to Reuters, the storm caused heavy rain in many areas, including the cities of Yangjiang, Zhanjiang and Maoming in Guangdong province.
Heavy rain is forecast to continue to hit coastal areas of mainland China including Guangdong, Guangxi, Hainan and Fujian provinces until tomorrow morning, July 22, with warnings of flash floods, landslides and the risk of strong winds.
The storm has now entered Vietnam's Gulf of Tonkin, and is expected to make landfall in the provinces from Hai Phong to Thanh Hoa in the evening of tomorrow, July 22.
