Tam Ky is bustling with urban and educational projects

Many infrastructure development projects

At the first session in 2024, Tam Ky City People's Council passed a resolution on investment policy for two public investment projects, including Thuan Tra 2 residential area and Nguyen Hien School west residential area (both located in Hoa Thuan ward).

According to the leader of Tam Ky People's Committee, Thuan Tra 2 Residential Area project has a scale of 9.6 hectares with a total investment of more than 189 billion VND, implemented in the period of 2025 - 2028; expected land use revenue from the project is more than 200 billion VND.

The investment in the Thuan Tra 2 residential area project aims to create land funds for compensation and resettlement in the area; connect and complete infrastructure, create urban landscape architecture space, and move towards building a modern urban area in the administrative center of Hoa Thuan ward; at the same time, contribute to solving the problem of flooding, environmental pollution and promoting socio -economic development.

Meanwhile, also with the goal of creating land funds for compensation, support, resettlement, infrastructure connection of Hoa Thuan ward administrative center, creating urban landscape architecture space, the residential area project west of Nguyen Hien School is smaller in scale with 1.9 hectares and a total investment of more than 45 billion VND.

According to the leaders of Tam Ky City, focusing on completing the criteria of a type I urban area and creating momentum for socio-economic development, urban project groups have been identified as top priorities in the local infrastructure development investment strategy in recent times. Therefore, at regular and extraordinary meetings of the Tam Ky City People's Council, the investment policy for many urban infrastructure projects has been approved.

One example is the Trung Nu Vuong underground drainage project with a total investment of more than 129 billion VND to solve local flooding drainage, gradually investing in completing the city's synchronous traffic and technical infrastructure.

Urban and residential area improvement projects such as the anti-erosion embankment project combining Tam Ky riverside landscape and resettlement area with an investment of up to 499 billion VND; Truong Dong residential area (Tan Thanh ward) with an investment of 34 billion VND with the goal of investing in technical infrastructure to solve flooding and environmental sanitation;

My Tay residential area (behind Ha Huy Tap High School, An My ward) with an investment of 78 billion VND with the goal of connecting infrastructure, traffic, solving flooding, creating urban landscape; Project to renovate and upgrade road surface, drainage, sidewalks of Tran Van Du street and the area of Tran Van Du - Huynh Thuc Khang intersection with an investment of 30 billion VND;

Truong Xuan - Phu Ninh road project (Tran Nhan Tong road) with an investment of 163 billion VND... All have been, are being and will be implemented, bringing vitality to the socio-economic development of the provincial city.

Prioritize investmentin education

In addition to urban infrastructure, the group of projects serving educational development is also ranked as a priority by the city in the annual investment plan to contribute to creating a spacious classroom appearance, meeting teaching and learning requirements, and building standard schools.

This is reflected in a series of school projects that have been approved for investment recently, such as Le Hong Phong Secondary School with 43 billion VND; Huynh Thuc Khang Secondary School with 33 billion VND; Nguyen Hue Secondary School with 43 billion VND; Anh Dao Kindergarten with 38 billion VND. Most recently, the Nguyen Khuyen Secondary School Project with a total investment of nearly 35 billion VND has just been approved by the Tam Ky City People's Council at the 11th Session.

Meanwhile, some schools that do not meet the requirements for teaching and learning facilities have had new construction projects, such as Nguyen Du Secondary School with a total investment of more than 71 billion VND or Nguyen Viet Xuan Primary School with a total investment of more than 77 billion VND.

For Nguyen Du Secondary School, while waiting for the establishment of a secondary school in Hoa Thuan ward, the school currently has to struggle to teach more than 2,000 students from Tan Thanh and Hoa Thuan wards.

According to the City People's Committee, the locality has been and will be investing heavily in educational infrastructure, creating further breakthroughs in the 5-year plan 2021 - 2025 to implement Resolution 09 of the City Party Committee on educational development in Tam Ky City.

According to the city's policy, based on the ability to balance budget investment capital, in recent years the top priority areas have been urban drainage, residential projects, education, and projects that create momentum for economic development.

Secretary of the City Party Committee - Chairman of the People's Council of Tam Ky City Tran Nam Hung emphasized that the city is focusing on investment and accelerating the progress of the renovation and construction of urban and traffic infrastructure. Many large programs and projects on urban development are being implemented, aiming to build Tam Ky to meet the criteria of a class I city.
