Many infrastructure development projects

At its first session in 2024, the Tam Ky City People's Council approved a resolution on the investment policy for two public investment projects, including the Thuan Tra 2 residential area and the residential area west of Nguyen Hien School (both located in Hoa Thuan ward).

According to the leaders of the Tam Ky People's Committee, the Thuan Tra 2 residential area project has a scale of 9.6 hectares with a total investment of over 189 billion VND, to be implemented in the period from 2025 to 2028; the expected revenue from land use fees from the project is over 200 billion VND.

The investment in the Thuan Tra 2 residential area project aims to create land for compensation and resettlement in the area; connect and complete infrastructure, create urban architectural and landscape spaces, and move towards building a modern urban area in the administrative center of Hoa Thuan ward; while also contributing to solving the problems of flooding and environmental pollution and promoting socio -economic development.

Meanwhile, also with the goal of creating land for compensation, support, and resettlement, connecting infrastructure to the Hoa Thuan ward administrative center, and creating urban architectural and landscape space, the residential area project west of Nguyen Hien School is smaller in scale with 1.9 hectares and a total investment of over 45 billion VND.

According to the leaders of Tam Ky City, focusing on completing the criteria for a Type I urban area and creating momentum for socio-economic development, urban projects have been identified as top priorities in the local infrastructure development investment strategy. Therefore, at regular and extraordinary sessions of the Tam Ky City People's Council, the investment policies for many urban infrastructure projects have been approved.

Examples include the underground drainage project on Trung Nu Vuong Street, with a total investment of over 129 billion VND, aimed at resolving localized flooding issues and gradually investing in the complete and synchronized transportation and technical infrastructure of the city.

Urban renovation and residential area projects include the Tam Ky River embankment and resettlement area project with an investment of up to 499 billion VND; and the Truong Dong residential area (Tan Thanh ward) with an investment of 34 billion VND, aiming to invest in technical infrastructure to address flooding and environmental sanitation issues.

The My Tay residential area (behind Ha Huy Tap High School, An My ward) has an investment of 78 billion VND with the goal of connecting infrastructure and traffic, resolving flooding, and creating urban landscapes; the project to renovate and upgrade the road surface, drainage, and sidewalks of Tran Van Du street and the Tran Van Du - Huynh Thuc Khang intersection area has an investment of 30 billion VND;

The Truong Xuan - Phu Ninh road project (Tran Nhan Tong road) has an investment of 163 billion VND… All of these projects have been, are being, and will be implemented, bringing vitality to the socio-economic development of the provincial capital city.

Prioritize investment in education.

Besides urban infrastructure, projects serving educational development are also prioritized by the city in its annual investment plan to contribute to creating modern classrooms, meeting teaching and learning requirements, and building standard schools.

This is demonstrated by a series of school projects that have been approved for investment recently, such as Le Hong Phong Secondary School (43 billion VND), Huynh Thuc Khang Secondary School (33 billion VND), Nguyen Hue Secondary School (43 billion VND), and Anh Dao Kindergarten (38 billion VND). Most recently, the Nguyen Khuyen Secondary School project, with a total investment of nearly 35 billion VND, was also approved by the Tam Ky City People's Council at its 11th session.

Meanwhile, some schools, due to not meeting the requirements for teaching and learning facilities, have had new construction projects underway, such as Nguyen Du Secondary School with a total investment of over 71 billion VND and Nguyen Viet Xuan Primary School with a total investment of over 77 billion VND.

As for Nguyen Du Secondary School, while awaiting the establishment of a secondary school in Hoa Thuan ward, the school is currently struggling to provide education for over 2,000 students from Tan Thanh and Hoa Thuan wards.

According to the City People's Committee, the locality has been, is, and will continue to invest heavily in educational infrastructure, creating further breakthroughs in the 2021-2025 five-year plan to implement Resolution 09 of the City Party Committee on the development of education in Tam Ky City.

According to the city's policy, based on the ability to balance budget investment capital, in recent years the top priority areas have been urban drainage, residential projects, education, and projects that create momentum for economic development.

Secretary of the Tam Ky City Party Committee and Chairman of the City People's Council, Tran Nam Hung, emphasized that the city is focusing on investing in and accelerating the progress of urban and transportation infrastructure development. Many large-scale urban development programs and projects are being implemented, aiming to build Tam Ky to meet the criteria of a Class I urban area.
