On October 6th, the Provincial People's Committee issued Plan No. 3836 to implement Conclusion No. 44 dated November 14, 2022, of the Party Central Committee on continuing to implement Directive No. 43-CT/TW dated June 8, 2010, of the 10th Party Central Committee on strengthening the Party's leadership over the work of the Vietnam Red Cross Society in the new situation.
Over the past years, the implementation of Directive 43 of the Party Central Committee on strengthening the Party's leadership over the work of the Vietnam Red Cross Society in the new situation has been seriously carried out by Party committees, governments, and Red Cross societies at all levels, achieving many positive results. In the third quarter of 2023 alone, Red Cross societies at all levels in the province made great efforts and achieved high results, with the total value of all activities of the entire Society exceeding 15.4 billion VND. Of which, social welfare work stood out with a total value of over 10.6 billion VND and over 4.6 billion VND for community-based healthcare.
To continue effectively implementing Directive No. 43 and fully and effectively carrying out the tasks in Conclusion No. 44 of the Party Central Committee, in Plan No. 3836, the Provincial People's Committee assigned the Provincial Red Cross Society to coordinate with departments, agencies, and the People's Committees of districts, towns, and cities to promote awareness and responsibility regarding humanitarian work and the role of the Provincial Red Cross Society. Humanitarian work is identified as an important part of mass mobilization work, a regular task, and a significant contribution to promoting and spreading the nation's fine tradition of compassion. Participation in movements such as "Good People, Good Deeds," "Joining Forces to Build a Compassionate Community," "Compassionate Tet," and "Humanitarian Month" is encouraged; and the successful models and best practices in humanitarian activities will be further expanded in conjunction with the "Skilled Mass Mobilization" emulation movement. At the same time, the Provincial Red Cross Society will continue to consolidate and strengthen its organization and improve the quality and effectiveness of its activities. Furthermore, departments, agencies, and the People's Committees of districts, towns, and cities need to continue creating favorable conditions for the Provincial Red Cross Society to participate in socio -economic development programs, projects, and schemes that are consistent with the Society's functions and duties and the provisions of the law. They should provide support and funding according to assigned tasks so that Red Cross Societies at all levels can play a core role in humanitarian work and Red Cross activities, contributing to the effective implementation of social welfare policies in the locality.
