Strengthening traffic organization and ensuring safety on National Highway 2B to Tam Dao town

Recently, on National Highway 2B (QL.2B) to Tam Dao town, Tam Dao district, there have been a number of traffic accidents. Therefore, immediately after inspecting the actual work of ensuring traffic order and safety on this route, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vu Viet Van issued a document directing the Department of Construction to preside over and coordinate with the Provincial Police and relevant agencies to conduct a general inspection and review of traffic infrastructure on QL.2B.

Especially at sharp turns with steep slopes, traffic accident sites and potential traffic safety risks, promptly propose reasonable and scientific traffic organization solutions on steep mountain passes, enhance the safety features of the traffic infrastructure system (add 2-layer roundabout guardrails, uniform-strip speed reducers, reflective arrows, road markings, reflective studs, speed limit signs, no-overtaking signs, rough asphalt concrete road surfaces, reinforce landslides, etc.).

The study proposes to add gantry price at the up and down positions from Km14 - Km24 of National Highway 2B, integrating warnings, speed limit signs... to increase warnings, raise awareness for drivers, and ensure traffic safety for people and vehicles participating in traffic on National Highway 2B (concise, easy-to-understand, easy-to-observe content).

The provincial police have directed the traffic police force to strengthen patrols and controls; promptly detect and strictly handle acts of lane encroachment, speeding, illegal overtaking, and stopping and parking in the wrong place...

During the patrol and control process, promptly detect shortcomings in traffic organization and potential traffic accident risk points, and recommend relevant levels and sectors to promptly overcome them to ensure traffic safety for people and vehicles participating in traffic on the route.

Tam Dao District People's Committee promotes propaganda and guidance for traffic participants. Actively check the lighting system, if there is any damage, it must be repaired immediately.

At the same time, direct the People's Committee of Tam Dao town to inspect and review decorative lights, signs, and propaganda boards that obscure traffic signs, affect visibility, and cause distraction for traffic participants, to be completed in May 2025. Allocate funds to immediately handle the road surface structure in Tam Dao town to ensure traffic safety and urban aesthetics, to be completed in June 2025.

The Provincial Management Board of Civil and Industrial Construction Projects urgently organized the completion and handover of the renovation of 4 inner-city roads in Tam Dao town under the project to renovate and upgrade National Highway 2B in May 2025, to serve tourists visiting Tam Dao tourist area in the summer of 2025.
