On the afternoon of July 4, a representative of the Lam Ha Medical Center said that the unit had just successfully performed 4 tonsillectomy surgeries using the Coblator method. These were the first patients to receive surgery using this method at a district-level medical facility.

The surgeries were performed with the technical support of Specialist I Doctor Do Viet Huu Khanh - Deputy Head of the Department of Otorhinolaryngology, Lam Dong General Hospital. The surgical team was directly performed by Specialist I Doctor Nguyen Manh Tien - Department of Surgery - Interdisciplinary Surgery, Lam Ha Medical Center.

Each surgery took about 30 minutes. After 3 days of monitoring and treatment, the patients were discharged from the hospital in stable health condition. Previously, these patients were hospitalized with frequent sore throats, and the inflammation was getting worse and worse...

Coblator tonsillectomy is a surgical procedure that uses high-frequency radio waves and a heat-generating probe to remove infected tonsils. This minimally invasive procedure causes less pain and bleeding, and allows patients to be discharged the same day of surgery.

This is the first time that Coblator tonsillectomy technique has been implemented at Lam Ha Medical Center. Popularizing modern techniques such as Coblator to the grassroots level is considered an effective solution to help reduce the burden on upper-level facilities; at the same time, shorten treatment time and improve the quality of patient care.
