On the morning of July 29, at Kep airport (Lang Giang, Bac Ninh ), the Air Defense - Air Force continued to deploy training flights of fighter aircraft, to prepare for performing missions in the celebration of the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution and National Day September 2.
This is the peak training session after pilots of the units and three types of aircraft SU-30MK2, Yak-130 and L-39NG have gathered at Air Force Regiment 927 (Division 371, Air Defense - Air Force) at Kep airport.
In particular, on the morning of July 29, there was a training flight to familiarize the formation of 6 Yak-130 multi-role training aircraft, belonging to Air Force Regiment 940, Air Force Officer School, Air Defense - Air Force Service.
The "elephant walk" formation with 5 Yak-130s lined up on the taxiway waiting for takeoff. At the end is the SU-30MK2 fighter jet that has just landed and is taxiing to the hangar.
Two groups of Yak-130s took off in formations of three planes each, leaving the runway to participate in training flights.
This is also the first flight team to deploy the A80 mission after 5 days of moving from Phu Cat airport to Kep airport, and after only 1 day of successfully organizing a flight team to train on terrain observation and airspace at Kep airport for officers and flight instructors of Regiment 940.
After maneuvering stably from an altitude of 600-1,000m, the pilots controlled 6 Yak-130 aircraft to reduce altitude, join the formation, and form a diamond shape through the simulated grandstand area at low altitude, with stable distance, spacing, and height difference.
Colonel Nguyen Van Son - Commander of Regiment 940 - said that the unit has successfully organized a training flight of 6 aircraft in an isosceles triangle formation at Phu Cat airport since last June.
In 2023, officers and flight instructors of Air Force Regiment 940 had been mobilized to carry out training missions and participated in long-term exercises of mission DT23 in Kep airport area and the Northern region, so they are quite familiar with the terrain, security conditions and weather and meteorological factors.
During the first flight of 6 aircraft in formation in the sky above Kep airport area, Air Force Regiment 940 successfully performed 7 flights in a neat and even formation through the simulated grandstand area, ensuring absolute safety.
On the same morning of July 29, the units also deployed SU-30MK2 fighter training flights with 2 formations of 5 and 3 aircraft.

The flight on the morning of July 29th successfully completed, marking the initial success of the Air Defense - Air Force in the joint training of 3 types of aircraft at Kep airport, ensuring the excellent implementation of the training mission ready for joint training, comprehensive training, preliminary review, final review and official flight on the great festival of the country on the morning of September 2nd.
