Implementing the OCOP program according to the 2-level local government model

Recently, the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Lai Chau province has issued a document directing the strengthening of the implementation of the OCOP Program in 2025 according to the two-level local government model, thereby contributing to effective new rural construction.

2025 is determined to be the final year of implementing the OCOP Program for the 2021-2025 period. This is a key stage in completing the set targets and criteria, while preparing the foundation for the next stage. Therefore, the People's Committees of communes and wards in Lai Chau province need to promote information and propaganda about the OCOP Program to the community, production and business organizations and individuals to spread the meaning, attract participation and arouse local potential and advantages. At the same time, localities proactively and effectively implement OCOP implementation plans, clearly demonstrating their role as direct units guiding and supporting the subjects participating in the Program.

One of the key tasks assigned is to review, detect and select potential products in the industry group according to new regulations to guide and support organizations and individuals to complete registration dossiers to participate in the evaluation, classification and upgrading of OCOP products in 2025. The dossiers need to be completed and sent to the Provincial Evaluation Council before October 31, 2025 to ensure progress.

Along with that, the People's Committees of communes and wards need to notify and support entities with products recognized from 2022 (certification is about to expire, certification period is 36 months) if needed, promptly complete the procedures to request re-evaluation and recognition according to the correct process.

The Department of Agriculture and Environment of Lai Chau province also requested to strengthen the inspection and supervision of the use of OCOP certification logos and trademarks, promptly detect and handle violations according to regulations. For products that no longer meet the conditions, localities need to review and recommend competent authorities to revoke the Certificate to protect the reputation of the Program.

With the synchronous participation of authorities at all levels, the cooperation of organizations and people, the OCOP Program in Lai Chau promises to continue to be effective, contributing to the development of the rural economy , improving people's income and life, and promoting the new rural construction program according to the 2-level local government model.
