Holiday periods are always opportune times for individuals to exploit and violate the Forestry Law. Therefore, patrolling, protecting, and preventing and fighting forest fires are receiving special attention from relevant authorities.
In Da Teh commune, during this year's September 2nd holiday, the People's Committee directed relevant agencies and units to deploy personnel on duty and pay special attention to areas at risk of violations of the Forestry Law.
According to Mr. Nguyen Hoang Minh, Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Teh commune, the commune has a total natural area of 14,584.35 hectares; the planned forestry area is 7,685.99 hectares, accounting for 52.7% of the natural area; the forested land area is 7,854.6 hectares, with a forest cover rate of 53.86%. Within Da Teh commune, there are two state-owned forest management units with an area of 4,455.88 hectares, including Cat Tien National Park (22.01 hectares) and Da Teh Forestry Company Limited (4,433.87 hectares); eight enterprises leasing land and forests to implement forestry investment projects with an area of 2,017.54 hectares; and 237 households allocated land under the forest protection and rural development project with an area of 1,212.57 hectares.

In 2025, the People's Committee of Da Teh commune, in coordination with the Da Huoai Forest Ranger Station and other forest management units, developed 16 plans and conducted 64 forest patrol and inspection campaigns throughout the commune, with 512 participants. In addition, the People's Committee of the commune also coordinated with the Forest Ranger Cluster No. 2 - Da Huoai Forest Ranger Station to conduct over 40 patrols.
Specifically during the September 2nd holiday, the People's Committee of Da Teh commune assigned commune leaders to conduct forest patrols; directed the Forestry Board, officials, and households participating in forest protection contracts to maintain a 24/7 presence, divided into multiple teams to carry out patrol, management, and protection of the forest. At the same time, they concentrated forces to strengthen inspections and crack down on violators in areas of forest at high risk of encroachment.
According to Mr. Nguyen Hoang Minh, thanks to effective forest management and protection, the total number of violations of the Forestry Law in Da Teh commune during the first eight months of 2025 was only two cases, the area of damage caused by deforestation was insignificant, and the amount of lost timber was 0.202 cubic meters of various types of wood.

Meanwhile, in Cat Tien 3 commune, forest management and protection during the September 2nd holiday were also intensified by all levels of government and functional units of the commune.
According to Mr. Tran Quang Truong, Chairman of the People's Committee of Cat Tien 3 commune, the commune currently has a total forest area of 12,680.87 hectares. Of this, the former District Military Command manages 663.68 hectares; 14 villages and community groups are contracted to manage 9,878.33 hectares; households participate in forest management for 1,759.18 hectares; the commune People's Committee directly manages 37.90 hectares; and Cat Tien National Park manages 341.78 hectares.
Recognizing forest protection as a continuous task with no respite, the People's Committee of Cat Tien 3 commune has directed relevant agencies and units to coordinate with forest rangers and forest management units to conduct 24/7 patrols, maintain forest protection teams, and cooperate with local authorities to prevent illegal logging, exploitation, and other harmful activities, ensuring continuous forest protection even during holidays.

Furthermore, the unit is stepping up its efforts in propaganda and education to raise awareness and responsibility among the people. Simultaneously, it is reviewing outstanding cases to focus on resolving them completely, combined with propaganda, education, and deterrence, in order to establish order and discipline in forest management and protection. In addition, it is coordinating with the police, military, and forest owners to implement strong measures to prevent, combat, and severely punish acts of forest encroachment.
In 2025, Cat Tien 3 commune, in coordination with Cat Tien National Park, organized community activities to raise awareness about forest management, protection, and fire prevention in the area, with over 191 people participating. Forest inspection and patrol activities by the forest management unit and the Forest Ranger Station were maintained and focused on key areas with a high risk of violations. In the first eight months of the year, seven violations occurred in the commune; of which, Cat Tien National Park recorded and processed six cases involving nine individuals, and the Da Huoai Forest Ranger Station processed one case involving one individual.

To strengthen forest management and protection, functional agencies and localities in Lam Dong province have issued documents directing agencies and units to enhance forest patrol and protection efforts.
In this regard, the Lam Dong Department of Agriculture and Environment directs units and localities to proactively deploy sufficient forces at forest protection checkpoints and stations; assess the situation, identify and delineate key areas at risk of violations.
