Tourists coming to Ha Tinh who have "accidentally" tasted cu do will forever remember the sweet aroma of molasses, the spicy taste of fresh ginger, the crunchiness of peanuts and sesame rice paper.

Ha Tinh people consider cu do as the soul of their homeland, often choose it as a gift for honored guests, or bring it with them when traveling far away.

Knowing that people's purchasing power will increase after the Lunar New Year holiday, cu do candy production facilities in Ha Tinh have increased their capacity to produce batches of cu do specialty to sell to customers.

Ms. Dang Thi Huong, owner of the Thu Vien candy production facility (in Dai Nai Ward, Ha Tinh City), said that her facility has been in production and business for more than 40 years. The candy is sold all year round, but is most popular after Tet.

"My family's facility always maintains about 10 workers working all year round, selling about 1,000 pieces to the market every day. After Tet, we increased the number of workers to 20 all-day production because people's demand for cu do candies as gifts increased. This year's cu do candy purchasing power is higher than the same period last year. The reason may be that this year, Ha Tinh people working far away from home are returning home to celebrate Tet in larger numbers than in previous years. In the past few days, although we have made 4,000 - 5,000 pieces each day, they are still out of stock," said Ms. Dang Thi Huong.

According to Ms. Dang Thi Huong, currently, the Thu Vien candy production facility sells at 17,000 VND/piece, no increase compared to normal days. After the Tet holiday, the facility consumes an average of 5,000 - 6,000 pieces per day, 4 - 5 times higher than normal days.

In Ha Tinh, there are currently hundreds of candy production facilities, many of which have been awarded the OCCOP "star". After Tet, most of the facilities producing this specialty have increased their production capacity to have enough goods to sell to the people.

This is not only a time to help cu do candy production facilities increase sales, but also an opportunity to promote Ha Tinh's typical gift to people across the country.
