| Leaders of the Department of Agriculture and Environment proposed solutions for land clearance at the meeting. |
During the meeting, local authorities raised several difficulties and obstacles affecting the progress of land clearance, such as: reviewing land ownership, verifying assets on the land according to new regulations, handling cases of land division, and completing infrastructure for resettlement and agricultural relocation areas.
Concluding the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Trinh Minh Hoang requested localities to urgently develop detailed and specific plans for each task and timeline to accelerate the land clearance process for the Ninh Thuan 1 and Ninh Thuan 2 nuclear power plant projects. At the same time, departments, agencies, and localities need to strengthen coordination and promptly resolve difficulties and obstacles arising during the appraisal, approval, and compensation payment process for the people. Units need to focus on implementing a comprehensive set of solutions to improve the land clearance rate; in particular, strengthening propaganda and mobilization efforts, and leveraging the role of influential figures, religious leaders, village elders, and village heads in creating consensus among the people for key national projects.
Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Trinh Minh Hoang instructed relevant agencies to study appropriate support mechanisms for the forces directly involved in land clearance work, especially those working overtime to meet project deadlines. The Provincial Inspectorate, in coordination with local authorities, will promptly resolve complaints and petitions related to compensation and land clearance, minimizing the emergence of hotspots. The Department of Agriculture and Environment and related units will urgently review and propose solutions for resettlement, job retraining, and livelihood stabilization for people after land acquisition. Simultaneously, they will expedite the completion of resettlement and re-cultivation areas to ensure conditions for people to quickly stabilize their lives and hand over land for project implementation.
