Pertamina oil and gas corporation partners with FPT to apply AI.

DNVN - FPT recently signed a cooperation agreement with Pertamina, the Indonesian National Oil and Gas Corporation, to promote innovation in the energy sector using artificial intelligence (AI) technology.

According to the agreement,FPT will provide advanced AI technologies to optimize the inspection and maintenance processes of equipment at Pertamina's facilities.

The project focuses on two main objectives: improving the operational capabilities and efficiency of the equipment, and ensuring workplace safety. At the PHE OSES (Pertamina Hulu Energi Offshore Southeast Sumatra) drilling rig, located in the waters off Southeast Sumatra, Indonesia, AI technology developed by FPT in collaboration with Pertamina Marine Engineering will analyze data collected from drones, detecting anomalies, leaks, and structural damage to ensure the integrity of the drilling rig system.

The signing ceremony took place within the framework of General Secretary To Lam 's official visit to Indonesia.

In addition, at PDSI (Pertamina Drilling Services Indonesia) drilling sites, AI solutions will monitor compliance with regulations on the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), contributing to risk reduction and ensuring a safe working environment.

This collaboration also opens up opportunities for FPT to expand its expertise not only in the energy sector but also in other fields such as education, telecommunications, and agriculture ."

Prior to this agreement, in 2024, FPT collaborated with PT Pertamina Marine Engineering (a subsidiary of Pertamina) to apply advanced technology to upstream oil and gas operations, including maintenance, repair, and monitoring.
