Focus on making thorough preparations for the ceremony announcing the National Assembly's resolution on the merger of provinces.

BAC GIANG - On the afternoon of June 18th, a delegation from the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, led by Comrade Hoang Van Tra, Deputy Chairman of the Central Inspection Committee, held a working session in Bac Giang province to assess the preparations for the ceremony announcing the National Assembly's resolution on the merger of the provinces.

Receiving and working with the delegation were: Nguyen Van Gau, Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Nguyen Thi Huong, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Council; and Mai Son, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.

Here, provincial leaders exchanged views and presented a summary of the program for the ceremony announcing the resolutions of the National Assembly , decisions of the Central Government and the local government on the merger of administrative units, and the establishment of Party organizations and the Fatherland Front at the provincial and commune levels.

The delegation held discussions at the Provincial Party Committee headquarters.

Accordingly, Bac Ninh province plans to hold a ceremony to announce the resolutions and decisions starting at 8:00 AM on June 30th; in the afternoon of the same day, a ceremony to announce the commune-level model will be held simultaneously at 18 locations in the districts, towns, and cities of both Bac Ninh and Bac Giang provinces. On the evening of June 30th, a cultural program and fireworks display will be held at two central locations in Bac Giang and Bac Ninh cities.

To date, Bac Giang province is ready to implement a two-tiered local government system from July 1, 2025; it has a plan for allocating office space, working facilities, and equipment to support the work of the units.

The working group inspected the actual situation at the reception and results delivery department of Dinh Ke ward (Bac Giang city).

The province is stepping up propaganda efforts to ensure that officials, Party members, association members, union members, and all segments of the population understand, agree with, and effectively implement the policy of reorganizing provincial-level administrative units; and to build a two-tiered local government organizational model.

Next, the delegation inspected and assessed the preparations for the announcement ceremony of resolutions and decisions in Dinh Ke ward (Bac Giang city). This is one of the localities that merged to form Bac Giang ward after the merger. Representatives of Bac Giang city leadership reported to the delegation on the preparations for arranging the working offices of the newly merged communes and wards, the preparations for the announcement ceremony, and the operation of the new model from July 1, 2025.

To ensure the successful implementation of the announcement ceremony and the two-tiered local government model, the leaders of Bac Giang province and city proposed to the working group that they recommend to the Central Government and the Government to continue reviewing, supplementing, and amending outdated regulations in handling administrative procedures to better reflect the actual situation. They also suggested promoting the application of information technology and digital transformation to support professional work, ensuring uniformity in the use and exploitation of artificial intelligence nationwide, and guaranteeing synchronization, effectiveness, and efficiency.

The members of the working group acknowledged the province's proactive and responsible spirit; they requested Bac Giang to continue completing the preparatory work and the necessary steps to be ready for operation immediately after the merger. Regarding the province's proposals and recommendations, the working group will forward them to the Central Government for consideration and resolution.
