In the chilly weather, at the glass painting workshop on the banks of the Ong Chuong River in Long Dien commune, the pace of work seems faster than usual. Each brushstroke, each movement of pulling silk, sawing wood, cutting glass, and framing resonates with a lively rhythm. Skilled hands meticulously attach each piece of mother-of-pearl, creating intricate details that highlight the unique beauty of each painting.
Ms. Vo Thi Sang, manager of the Hoa Thuan Glass Painting Production Workshop, said: “This year, customers are placing many orders for Tet (Lunar New Year), favoring decorative paintings with auspicious meanings such as money trees, apricot blossoms, prosperity, and wealth. In particular, products associated with the Year of the Horse, such as the 'successful horse' motif inlaid with mother-of-pearl and printed paintings using advanced technology, are selling very well. The volume of Tet orders has doubled compared to last year, so the workshop has doubled its workforce to meet the demand.”

The glass painting village here is famous for its religious paintings, decorative paintings of the Kitchen God and the Earth God, paintings depicting "smooth sailing," and "successful arrival"... The products are diverse, ranging from hand-painted and silk-pulled paintings to 3D printed paintings, with prices suitable for various customer segments. Each painting not only possesses aesthetic value but also conveys moral messages, aspirations for peace and prosperity, contributing to preserving the distinctive traditional culture of An Giang province.

To preserve the craft and meet increasingly diverse tastes, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hoa, owner of Hoa Thuan Glass Painting Production Facility, along with other households in the craft village, invested in computers and applied techniques such as color separation, silk screen printing, and 3D printing, creating paintings in various sizes, colors, and themes. According to Mr. Hoa, the core value of glass paintings lies in the harmonious combination of exquisite craftsmanship, visual beauty, and rich cultural and emotional content, reflecting aspirations for a better life.

Having been involved in the craft for over 20 years, Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Thoa shared: “I do many tasks such as coloring, attaching mother-of-pearl…, earning an average of over 6 million VND per month. At the beginning and end of the year, the workshop works overtime until 10 PM to meet delivery deadlines, and the income can increase to 7-8 million VND per month. I've grown to love the job and feel happy contributing to preserving the traditional craft village.”
In urban areas, many businesses are also accelerating production to meet the peak consumer demand during the year-end holiday season. A bustling atmosphere pervades factories and production facilities. At An Giang Cement Plant, ACERA Ceramic Tile Factory, Tunnel An Giang Brick and Tile Factory, Ba Doi ACC Stone Mining and Processing Enterprise… belonging to An Giang Construction Joint Stock Company, production lines operate continuously, and workers are working overtime to meet order deadlines before Tet (Lunar New Year).

According to Nguyen Thanh Xuan, Chairman of the Board of Directors of An Giang Construction Joint Stock Company, in 2025, the domestic construction materials market experienced low purchasing power and high input costs. The company made efforts to implement various solutions to stabilize production and business. As a result, it maintained employment for nearly 1,200 workers, with an average salary of 8.3 million VND per person per month; revenue reached 1,300 billion VND, and tax contributions amounted to 95 billion VND. Although profits did not meet the plan, the basic living standards of the workers were ensured. “To meet year-end orders, the company is proactively preparing resources, maintaining and servicing machinery, and improving coordination between departments. The An Giang Cement Plant is focusing on ensuring stable equipment operation, strictly controlling the quality of raw materials, and researching ways to reduce production costs to stabilize product quality and price. The ACERA ceramic tile factory is closely monitoring market demand, adjusting product types and designs accordingly, while expanding its consumer market. The Ba Doi ACC Stone Mining and Processing Enterprise is increasing production to promptly meet customer needs,” Mr. Xuan said.
An Giang is a dynamic locality with many strong businesses in the fields of freshwater seafood exploitation and processing for export, and agricultural production serving both domestic and international markets. The market outlook remains positive during the year-end shopping season, helping many businesses maintain high production capacity at least until the end of the first quarter of 2026. This acceleration not only reflects the dynamism of production and business activities but also signals a positive outlook for businesses to improve revenue and create momentum to achieve their development goals in the new year.
