Vietnam Railway Corporation informed that the Vietnam - China international passenger train has been quite popular after 4 months of resuming operation.
Specifically, from the date of resumption on May 26 to the end of September 2025, the train has served 8,400 passengers. Of which, Vietnamese passengers account for 20%, Chinese passengers account for 75%, and other countries account for 5%.

In order to facilitate passengers in buying tickets, instead of just buying directly as before, from October 9, the railway has officially launched online ticket sales for passengers from Gia Lam station to stations on the Gia Lam - Nanning route through the official ticket sales website dsvn.vn of Vietnam Railways. To buy tickets, passengers need to access the ticket sales website to book tickets, pay online, then bring their passport and receipt to receive tickets directly at the station.
In addition to buying tickets online, passengers can buy international train tickets directly at railway station ticket offices nationwide. Vietnam Railways is continuing to work with China Railways to expand online ticket sales for passengers who need to buy MR1 international train tickets that go beyond Nanning station such as: Guilin North, Hengyang, Changsha, Zhengzhou, Beijing West, on Tuesdays and Fridays every week. Currently, for international train tickets that go beyond Nanning station, passengers can buy tickets directly at railway stations nationwide.
