On December 5.12, Dong Nai Children's Hospital said it had just treated a child patient (4 years old, living in Bien Hoa City, Dong Nai) with severe brain damage due to falling down the stairs.
Notably, many hours after the fall, the baby's brain damage symptoms appeared.
Specifically, on November 26.11, the child was hospitalized in a conscious state but had symptoms of headache and vomiting. Family members said that one day the baby fell down the stairs.
After checking, there were no unusual signs, so the family felt secure. But at night, the baby complained of a headache and vomiting, so his family took him to the hospital.
Through examination, combined with CT scan results, doctors discovered that the patient had a very large hematoma in his head, causing compression on the brain, and prescribed emergency surgery. The surgery was successful after 1 hour and 30 minutes.
Currently, the patient's health is stable, he is eating well, and can be discharged from the hospital in the next few days.
