Thadico is accelerating the construction progress of the lighting system for Ba Son Bridge.

(Dan Tri Newspaper) - The Ba Son Bridge will have its artistic lighting system installed (phase 1) before the start of the new year 2025, according to a design approved by the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Transportation.

In order to further enhance the beauty of the Saigon River and elevate the value and beauty of the Ba Son Bridge at night, based on the city's proposal, Dai Quang Minh Real Estate Investment Joint Stock Company (Thadico) has studied a plan for artistic lighting using direct and indirect methods on the cable-stayed system and bridge structure.

Accordingly, Thadico will initially invest in the first phase of artistic lighting (indirect artistic lighting, including lighting for cable stays, tower pillars, and the sides of the bridge spans, highlighting the distinctive architectural features) according to the design approved by the Department of Transportation.

The investment and completion of all artistic lighting projects (direct artistic lighting, including the installation of LED lights on the exterior of the cable stays to create dynamic effects that change according to architectural themes or important events) will be funded by Ho Chi Minh City.

Immediately after the city approved the plan, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Transport announced the results of the technical design appraisal and granted a construction permit (phase 1) for the artistic lighting project on the Ba Son Bridge in early December. Thadico then urgently accelerated the construction progress to ensure completion and commissioning in time for the 2025 New Year's Day, coinciding with the Nguyen Hue pedestrian street and Bach Dang Park. This will create a nighttime highlight for the Saigon River and a tourist attraction for visitors and city residents.

The Ba Son Bridge (Thu Thiem 2 Bridge) not only plays a crucial role in connecting traffic between the central District 1 and the Thu Thiem new urban area, but is also considered a modern iconic structure of Ho Chi Minh City. The project was completed and handed over to the city in April 2022 by Dai Quang Minh Real Estate Investment Joint Stock Company (Thadico).

The Ba Son Bridge is nearly 1.5 km long with 6 lanes, the bridge itself is 885 meters long, and it boasts a unique "two-plane cable-stayed" design with 113-meter-high towers shaped like dragon heads, positioned off-center towards Thu Thiem (Thu Duc City).

The completion and commissioning of the Ba Son Bridge contributes to the completion of the main traffic network, strengthening the connection between the city center and the Thu Thiem peninsula, helping to alleviate traffic pressure on key routes such as Nguyen Huu Canh Street and the Thu Thiem Tunnel… The project was announced by Ho Chi Minh City as one of the 10 outstanding events of 2022.
