According to information from the Department of Internal Affairs of Thai Nguyen province, there are currently 954 martyrs' graves in 49 martyrs' cemeteries throughout the province whose information has not yet been identified.

The process of collecting, handing over, and digitizing the information on the remains of fallen soldiers from these graves will serve DNA testing, identification, and meet the requirements of honoring and implementing policies for those who have rendered meritorious service to the revolution.

This also concretizes the directive of the National Steering Committee on the search, collection, and identification of the remains of martyrs to implement the "500-day and night campaign to intensify the search, collection, and identification of the remains of martyrs".

According to Colonel Tran Viet Nang, Political Commissar of the Thai Nguyen Provincial Military Command, this is a particularly important political task; therefore, units and localities must enhance their sense of responsibility in its implementation. At the same time, they must strengthen propaganda efforts to create consensus among the people and meticulously prepare the necessary conditions to complete the task on schedule.

Thai Nguyen aims to complete the sampling, sample handover, and digitization of information on the remains of fallen soldiers between June 2026 and the first quarter of 2027; to fully and promptly digitize and update data related to the sampling process into the sample information management software; and to ensure connection, sharing, and interoperability with the national database on meritorious individuals according to the assigned levels.

In June 2026, the province plans to organize the collection and handover of samples of martyrs' remains at the Yen Trach Martyrs' Cemetery. This includes fully implementing the procedures for excavation, sample collection, handover, sample storage, and digitization of information on the martyrs' remains. Simultaneously, a comprehensive review of the implementation process will be conducted to ensure its effective and widespread application at other martyrs' cemeteries.
