Defending champions Thai Son Bac had little difficulty securing a resounding victory against Luxury Ha Long.

In the second minute, Vu Ngoc Anh opened the scoring with a decisive left-footed shot, marking the beginning of a dominant performance that lasted for the entire 40 minutes of the match.
Then, Minh Quang and Huu Tuan successively increased the score to 3-0 after the first half.
In the second half, Thai Son Bac continued to demonstrate their superior strength. Ngoc Anh shone brightly with two consecutive goals, completing a hat-trick on the opening day.
In addition, Minh Quang, Van Tuan, and Lam Toi also scored, sealing a resounding 8-0 victory for the team from the capital city.
In the other match, Sahako defeated Ho Chi Minh City Youth team 2-1 in a closely contested game.
The Ho Chi Minh City youth team started the match with great determination and caused many difficulties for their opponents. However, Sahako were still the ones who capitalized on their opportunities better.

In the 10th minute, Tran Hoang Phong opened the scoring for Sahako with an accurate shot. Ho Chi Minh City Youth quickly responded, and in the 13th minute, Tran Le Bo equalized 1-1.
The subsequent events saw efforts from both teams, but the outcome was only decided in the 34th minute, when Marco Antonio Moreira – Sahako's foreign player – scored the winning goal, securing a 2-1 victory.
With this result, both Thai Son Bac and Sahako secured 3 points, temporarily sharing the top two positions in Group B after the first round of matches.
Meanwhile, Ho Chi Minh City Youth and Luxury Ha Long will have to work harder in the upcoming matches if they want to keep their hopes of reaching the semi-finals alive.
This afternoon, August 5th, the tournament will continue with two matches in Group A: Saigon Titans – Tan Hiep Hung (3:30 PM) and Hanoi – Thai Son Nam Ho Chi Minh City (5:30 PM).
