Thanh Hoa welcomes investment wave.

(Baothanhhoa.vn) - In the first five months of 2025, Thanh Hoa province attracted 40 foreign direct investment (FDI) projects with a total registered capital of approximately 10 trillion VND. This includes 5 FDI ​​projects with a total registered capital of nearly 200 million USD and 35 domestic investment projects with a total capital of nearly 5 trillion VND. In addition, 2 FDI projects had their capital increased, with a total additional value of over 54 million USD.

Construction of infrastructure for the Lien Hoa Industrial Cluster (Hau Loc) is being expedited to soon welcome investors for production and business activities.

Several large-scale projects have received investment approval recently, including: the Am Tien Commercial Service and Cable Car Area in Nua town, Trieu Son district, with a total investment of VND 2,969 billion; the project to invest in the construction and operation of infrastructure for Thang Long Thanh Hoa Industrial Park (phase 1) in Trieu Son district and Thanh Hoa city, with a total capital of USD 115.8 million (equivalent to VND 2,918.2 billion); and the project to build and operate infrastructure for WHA Smart Technology 2 Industrial Park - Thanh Hoa, with a total investment of VND 1,450 billion...

The WHA Smart Technology 2 Industrial Park - Thanh Hoa project, developed and operated by WHA Group (Thailand), covers a total land area of ​​nearly 175 hectares, located in the communes of Thieu Giang, Thieu Quang, Thieu Thinh, and Thieu Hop (Thieu Hoa district). The project was approved to create a comprehensive and modern investment environment, attracting high-tech and high-value-added supporting industrial projects, thereby contributing to enhancing the competitiveness of industrial parks in the province and the entire North Central region. The project also serves as a foundation for developing key industries and promoting economic restructuring towards industrialization and modernization.

The implementation of the WHA Smart Technology 2 Industrial Park project in Thanh Hoa by the WHA Group (Thailand) partly demonstrates Thanh Hoa province's ability to attract significant foreign direct investment (FDI). This is one of Thailand's leading industrial groups. Previously, in early March 2024, Thanh Hoa province granted an investment approval for the WHA Smart Technology Industrial Park project in Hoang Quy, Hoang Quy, Hoang Xuyen, and Hoang Cat communes (Hoang Hoa district), covering nearly 179 hectares with an investment of approximately VND 1,320 billion. The project is being developed by WHA Industrial Development Nghe An Joint Stock Company, a member of the WHA Group.

Since the beginning of the year, the Nghi Son Economic Zone Management Board and Industrial Parks have coordinated with relevant departments and units to welcome 4 delegations of foreign investors and 10 delegations of domestic investors to explore investment opportunities. They have also reviewed applications, granted new investment policies, and issued investment registration certificates for 3 projects with a total registered capital of VND 948.86 billion; and 10 projects that registered for adjustments, including one project with an increase in capital of USD 3.7 million. To date, the Nghi Son Economic Zone has attracted 335 projects, including 310 domestic investment projects with a total registered investment capital of VND 170,356 billion and implemented capital of VND 78,769 billion, and 25 foreign investment projects with a total registered investment capital of USD 12,831 million and implemented capital of USD 12,724 million. A series of large-scale projects have been launched in the Nghi Son Economic Zone.

The Duc Giang Nghi Son Chemical Complex is one of the large-scale projects of Duc Giang Nghi Son Chemical Company Limited (part of Duc Giang Chemical Group) commenced in the Nghi Son Economic Zone. The project has a total investment of VND 12,000 billion, divided into three phases. Phase 1 covers an area of ​​30 hectares and has a total investment of VND 2,400 billion, expected to be operational in Q1 2026. The projected production capacity is 151,000 tons of chemicals per year, including a caustic soda production plant with a total capacity of 80,000 tons/year, a PAC (Polyaluminum Chloride) production plant with a capacity of 30,000 tons/year, a Calcium Hypochlorite (Ca(OCl)2) production plant with a capacity of 20,000 tons/year, and an H3PO3 production plant with a total capacity of 10,000 tons/year.

Construction began concurrently with Project No. 1 of the Duc Giang Nghi Son Chemical Complex, followed by the Billion Union Vietnam Textile Factory Project, invested by Billion Union Thanh Hoa Textile Company Limited with a total investment of 70 million USD. Upon completion and operation, the project will supply 18,000 tons of fabric per year to domestic and international markets.

Recognizing that attracting investment is a crucial driving force in transforming potential into advantages and promoting socio-economic development, localities within the province pay special attention to and allocate significant resources to this activity.

It can be said that, over the years, Trieu Son has been considered a "bright spot" in attracting investment, a "favorable land" for many investors and businesses to "set up shop" and develop production and business. During the 2021-2025 period, the district attracted 30 investment projects. In this period, many projects across the district have completed investment and gone into production, increasing the district's industrial production value, such as: Trieu Son Water Plant; ready-mix concrete plant in Nua town; expansion of Adiana shoe factory in Tho Dan commune; S&D garment factory in Dan Luc commune; export shoe and sandal factory in Dong Tien commune; Tho Ngoc clean water production and supply plant; decorative LED lighting and electronic toy factory in Tho Dan commune; automotive wiring harness assembly plant in Tho Tien commune; and coordination with investors to expedite the completion of legal procedures for the LED lighting factory in Thai Hoa commune. Construction has begun on the technical infrastructure of Hop Thang Industrial Cluster to attract secondary investment projects...

Recently, Thanh Hoa province, in collaboration with Sun Group, broke ground on the Commercial Service and Cable Car Project within the Am Tien Spiritual and Historical Relic Complex. The project covers nearly 400 hectares with a total investment of over 35,000 billion VND, located in the Nua mountain range, Co Dinh village, Nua town, Trieu Son district. The project is divided into three phases: Phase 1 is the Commercial Service and Cable Car project within the Am Tien Spiritual and Historical Relic Complex, covering nearly 32 hectares with an investment of nearly 3,000 billion VND. Phase 2 is the tourism service area and cultural landscape axis, covering nearly 57 hectares with an investment of over 9,600 billion VND. Phase 3 is the eco-tourism and resort area, covering nearly 300 hectares with an investment of over 22,000 billion VND. This project is being built on the scenic complex of Nua Mountain - Nua Temple - Am Tien - the site of the uprising led by the heroine Trieu Thi Trinh (Lady Trieu) against the Eastern Wu dynasty. It is also known as one of the most sacred spiritual sites in Vietnam. Upon completion, the project will contribute to elevating Thanh Hoa's tourism status on the national map, strongly promoting investment while preserving the historical and cultural values ​​of the nation; creating an important foundation for Thanh Hoa province's rapid and sustainable development.

The achievements in attracting investment have contributed to a bright socio-economic picture for Thanh Hoa province.
