The project to build and operate infrastructure of WHA Smart Technology 2 Industrial Park - Thanh Hoa is invested by WHA Group (Thailand). The total land use area is nearly 175 hectares, located in the communes of Thieu Giang, Thieu Quang, Thieu Thinh and Thieu Hop (Thieu Hoa). The project was approved to create a synchronous and modern investment environment, attracting high-tech projects and supporting industries with high added value, thereby contributing to improving the competitiveness of industrial parks in the province and the whole North Central region. The project is also a premise for developing key industries, promoting economic restructuring towards industrialization and modernization.
The implementation of the WHA Smart Technology 2 Industrial Park Project - Thanh Hoa by WHA Group (Thailand) partly shows the ability to attract large foreign direct investment (FDI) of Thanh Hoa province. This is one of the leading industrial groups in Thailand. Previously, in early March 2024, Thanh Hoa province granted the investment policy decision to the WHA Smart Technology Industrial Park Project in Hoang Quy, Hoang Quy, Hoang Xuyen and Hoang Cat communes (Hoang Hoa) with a scale of nearly 179 hectares, investment capital of about 1,320 billion VND by WHA Industrial Development Nghe An Joint Stock Company - a member of WHA Group as the investor.
Since the beginning of the year, the Management Board of Nghi Son Economic Zone (KKTNS) and Industrial Parks have chaired and coordinated with sectors and units to welcome 4 delegations of foreign investors and 10 delegations of domestic investors to explore investment opportunities. Appraisal of documents, issuance of new investment policies, investment registration certificates for 3 projects with a total registered capital of 948.86 billion VND; 10 projects registered for adjustment, of which 1 project adjusted to increase capital with an increase of 3.7 million USD. To date, the KKTNS has attracted 335 projects, of which 310 domestic investment projects with a total registered investment capital of 170,356 billion VND, realized capital of 78,769 billion VND and 25 foreign investment projects with a total registered investment capital of 12,831 million USD, realized capital of 12,724 million USD. A series of large projects have been started in the economic zone.
Duc Giang Nghi Son Chemical Complex is one of the major projects of Duc Giang Nghi Son Chemical Company Limited (under Duc Giang Chemical Group) started in the NSKZ. The project has a total capital scale of up to 12,000 billion VND, divided into 3 phases. Of which, phase 1 has an area of 30 hectares and a total investment of 2,400 billion VND, expected to come into operation in the first quarter of 2026. The expected capacity scale is 151,000 tons of chemicals/year, including a caustic soda factory with a total capacity of 80,000 tons/year, a PAC (Poly aluminum chloride) factory with a capacity of 30,000 tons/year, a Calcium hypochlorite Ca(OCl)2 factory with a capacity of 20,000 tons/year, a H3PO3 factory with a total capacity of 10,000 tons/year...
Starting at the same time as Project No. 1 of Duc Giang Nghi Son Chemical Complex is the Billion Union Vietnam Fabric Factory Project invested by Billion Union Thanh Hoa Textile Co., Ltd. with a total investment of 70 million USD. After completion and operation, the project will supply 18,000 tons of fabric/year to the domestic and international markets.
Identifying investment attraction as an important driving force to turn potential into advantage, promoting socio-economic development, localities in the province pay special attention, focus, and devote many resources to this activity.
It can be said that in recent years, Trieu Son has been considered a "bright spot" in attracting investment, a "fertile land" for many investors and enterprises to "set foot" in investing in production and business development. Recently, Thanh Hoa province cooperated with Sun Group to break ground on the project of commercial service area and cable car belonging to Am Tien spiritual tourism complex and historical relic. The project has a total area of nearly 400 hectares with a total investment of over 35,000 billion VND located in Nua mountain range, Co Dinh village, Nua town, Trieu Son district. The project is divided into 3 phases: Phase 1 is the project of commercial service area and cable car belonging to Am Tien spiritual tourism complex and historical relic with an area of nearly 32 hectares, with an investment of nearly 3,000 billion VND. Phase 2 is the tourism service area and cultural landscape axis with an area of nearly 57 hectares, with an investment of over 9,600 billion VND. Phase 3 is the eco-tourism resort with an area of nearly 300 hectares with an investment of over 22,000 billion VND. The project is built on the scenic complex of Nua Mountain - Nua Temple - Am Tien - the place where the hero Trieu Thi Trinh (Ba Trieu) raised an uprising against Dong Ngo. This place is also known as one of the most sacred acupuncture points in Vietnam. After completion, the project will contribute to raising the level of Thanh tourism on the national map, strongly promoting investment promotion associated with promoting the historical and cultural values of the nation; creating an important foundation for Thanh Hoa province to develop rapidly and sustainably.
The results achieved in investment attraction activities have contributed to creating a socio-economic picture of Thanh Hoa province with many bright colors.
