The Policy Advisory Council is an advisory body. They analyze, forecast, and evaluate the situation and results of the implementation of socio-economic development plans, strategies, and economic development policies. Based on this, the organization advises and recommends solutions to the Prime Minister to improve implementation efficiency or proposes amendments to mechanisms to achieve the set objectives.

The Council also advises and recommends to the Prime Minister timely solutions to respond to unusual domestic and international developments. They will provide input on major reports and socio-economic projects submitted by the Government and the Prime Minister to competent authorities.

The Policy Advisory Council proactively works with ministries, localities, etc. This organization is also authorized to request relevant agencies to provide documents, materials, and data.

In addition, the Prime Minister's policy advisory body consults with experts and collaborators, including domestic and international scientists and economists, as well as Vietnamese people residing abroad. They are also invited to attend conferences, meetings, and government working groups on relevant topics.
