Ho Chi Minh City implements many solutions to improve the quality of education and training.

Effectively implementing the 2018 General Education Program, Nguyen Du Secondary School (Go Vap District) has increased the application of information technology to deploy intuitive and vivid teaching methods. According to the school's Board of Directors, the 2018 General Education Program focuses on developing students' abilities and qualities, therefore, the school needs to organize diverse and rich educational activities according to advanced teaching methods, aimed at learners.

Ms. Truong Thi Dep, Principal of Nguyen Du Secondary School, said: To develop students' capacity and qualities, teachers and schools need to have specific solutions in teaching and learning. In particular, the school promotes digital transformation in teaching and learning, as well as other educational activities to help students form the habit of self-study, learn effectively according to instructions, and become citizens of the city with a sense of lifelong learning; at the same time, consider the effective implementation of digital transformation in education as an important "transformation" step for the school to best implement the 2018 General Education Program.

To meet the human resource requirements of the fourth industrial revolution, many schools in the city are currently teaching IT to students according to the International IT Standard Program. According to experts, equipping students with IT knowledge and digital skills not only helps students expand their learning opportunities, access learning resources, enhance creativity and problem-solving skills, but also motivates students to study independently.

These are important premises for students to become global citizens, ready to integrate internationally, exploit the huge treasure of knowledge, constantly updated by humanity. As one of the schools evaluated to effectively implement the International Standard Information Technology Program, Nguyen Van To Secondary School (District 10) has flexibly used socialized solutions, mobilizing philanthropists to participate in investment. Up to now, the implementation of teaching information technology according to international standards has been convenient and smooth, creating a premise for students to access the world 's advanced information technology programs.

Ho Chi Minh City always considers education as a top development goal, therefore, the local education budget has always increased every year, currently accounting for about 28% of regular expenditure and 20% of the city's capital construction investment budget. In addition, to concretize Resolution 29, the city has issued many directives, plans, and resolutions with the orientation that by 2030, the city's education will reach the advanced level of the Asian region, and reach the advanced level of the world by 2045.

To achieve this goal, the city has implemented many breakthrough programs and projects such as: Project to popularize and improve English proficiency for high school and vocational students; Project to improve IT application capacity, knowledge and skills for high school students; Math, Science and English teaching and learning program integrating English and Vietnamese programs; High-quality program for advanced schools, international integration; Enhanced English program, teaching English with foreign teachers... Thereby, contributing significantly to improving the quality of education; helping students to be active, creative, have knowledge and skills to meet the human resource requirements for the Southeast region and the whole country.

In the period 2013-2023, the total budget expenditure for education and training out of the total annual city budget expenditure will reach a rate of 20-31%. Along with that, the city issued many policies to attract social organizations and individuals to invest in education such as tax exemptions and reductions, support for commercial loan interest rates, incentives in mobilizing capital for investment in building facilities, etc.

According to Mr. Nguyen Van Hieu, Director of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City, aiming to achieve the city's educational goal of reaching the advanced level of Asia by 2030, the city's education sector continues to innovate state management, ensuring its role as a creator to develop education in line with the trend of international integration. The city also promotes the application of information technology in organizing activities, applying advanced teaching methods to effectively implement the 2018 General Education Program.
