Thanh Hoa City has a new chairman after the merger.

(Dan Tri Newspaper) - Following the establishment of the new Thanh Hoa City Party Committee, Mr. Le Trong Thu, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, was elected to the position of Chairman of the Thanh Hoa City People's Committee.

On the morning of January 1st, the Thanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee officially announced the Standing Committee's decision to establish the Thanh Hoa City Party Committee. This decision was made on the basis of merging the Dong Son District Party Committee into the Thanh Hoa City Party Committee.

Mr. Nguyen Van Hung, Head of the Thanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee's Organization Department, announced this decision. After the merger, the Thanh Hoa City Party Committee has 142 affiliated grassroots party organizations, with a total of 31,100 party members.

The advisory and support agencies of the Thanh Hoa City Party Committee include: the City Party Committee Office, the City Party Committee Organization Department, the City Party Committee Inspection Committee, the City Party Committee Propaganda Department, and the City Party Committee Mass Mobilization Department.

At the conference, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee also announced the decision to appoint the Executive Committee of the Thanh Hoa City Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term, consisting of 62 members.

The Standing Committee of the Thanh Hoa City Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term, consisting of 14 members, was also appointed.

Mr. Le Anh Xuan has been appointed to the position of Secretary of the Thanh Hoa City Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term.

The decision also appointed Mr. Le Trong Thu, Mr. Le Anh Tuan, and Mr. Le Thanh Hai to the positions of Deputy Secretary of the Thanh Hoa City Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term.

The Secretary of the Thanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee, Mr. Nguyen Doan Anh, emphasized that the reorganization of district and commune-level administrative units is a major policy of the Party and the State, aimed at streamlining the organizational structure for more efficient operation. At the same time, this also expands the development space and maximizes the potential and advantages of localities.

Previously, according to Resolution 1238 of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly on the rearrangement of district and commune-level administrative units in Thanh Hoa province for the period 2023-2025, the entire Dong Son district was merged into Thanh Hoa city.

Earlier that day, the Thanh Hoa City People's Council held its first session of the 2021-2026 term to consolidate the government apparatus following the merger of Dong Son district into Thanh Hoa city.

Mr. Le Anh Xuan, Secretary of the City Party Committee, was elected Chairman of the City People's Council; Mr. Le Quang Hien, Member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, was elected Vice Chairman of the City People's Council; and Mr. Le Trong Thu, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, was elected Chairman of the City People's Committee.

Mr. Le Mai Khanh, Mr. Nguyen Viet Hung, and Mr. Nguyen Van Hung were elected as Vice Chairpersons of the People's Committee of Thanh Hoa City.
