He was admitted directly to the police academy thanks to his impressive achievements.
These days, Sung A Chua is preparing for his enrollment at the People's Security Academy. "I'm very excited and looking forward to the enrollment day," the Hmong student shared with Dan Viet , expressing his wish for his father to accompany him, and if possible, his mother as well, so that both parents can see the university where their son will be studying.
Sung A Chua said that he will officially start school in October. Regarding his reason for choosing to study at a police academy , Sung A Chua shared: "I dream of becoming a police officer, and my family also has that goal in mind. This admissions season, I only applied to the People's Security Academy. Studying at a police academy will help reduce tuition costs, ease the burden on my parents, and allow me to serve my homeland and have a stable career."

With a father who works at a media and culture center, a mother who is a farmer, and a younger sister who is still in school, Sung A Chua said that his family is normal compared to many other families in the area, but compared to his friends in the city , they lack many things, and the money for his education is insufficient because their finances depend solely on his father.
The years spent studying at Viet Bac High School ( Thai Nguyen ) left many impressions on Sung A Chua, and he was loved by many friends.
It was also here that the male student made his mark with a series of outstanding achievements in History. In the 2023-2024 academic year, Sung A Chua won first prize in History at the national level and was directly admitted to the People's Security Academy.
Previously, in History, I participated in many competitions and won a series of awards such as: Second prize in History at the provincial level in 2020-2021 in 9th grade; Second prize in History at the provincial level in 2021-2022 in 10th grade; Silver medal in History in the regional competition for specialized schools in the Coastal and Northern Delta regions; Second prize in History at the provincial level in 2022-2023 in 11th grade; Second prize in History at the national level in 2022-2023 in 2022-2023; First prize in History at the provincial level in 2022-2023 in 12th grade; Gold medal in History at the regional competition for specialized schools in the Coastal and Northern Delta regions; Second prize in History at the provincial level in 2023-2024 in 12th grade.
"Viet Bac Highland High School is my dream school for all four years of middle school. The school doesn't have an entrance exam; they only consider academic records. The district has three vacancies, and I was lucky enough to be selected to study at Viet Bac Highland High School. Here, tuition, food, and accommodation are free," Sung A Chua said.
The secret to excelling in History: "Learn and accumulate knowledge simultaneously."
Despite consistently achieving outstanding results in History, Sung A Chua stated that he studied like everyone else, but perhaps the learning methods, perceptions, and thinking styles of each individual are different, leading to varying outcomes.
"Studying History isn't that difficult; the important thing is to understand it," the male student said.
Speaking about his love for History, Sung A Chua said: "I've been passionate about History and have competed in the History subject for five years. I've loved History since I was in sixth grade, and perhaps this passion and love for the subject is what kept me involved with it. As for my initial success in this subject, it's thanks to the teachers, my homeroom teacher, and my classmates who have taught, encouraged, and helped me a lot."

The school provided excellent support for us to participate in the national excellent student competition. We spent most of our time studying, had our own study rooms, and were given very flexible schedules. Therefore, I created my own timetable to arrange my study, review, practice, and daily activities in the most suitable way throughout the preparation period for the excellent student competition.
I had a specific plan for each topic and stage, ensuring I thoroughly understood each part of the material during the review process. I started participating in the History team in 10th grade, so my review process spanned all three years of high school. My teachers taught, reviewed, and practiced with exam questions for various levels of the gifted student competition each year, allowing me to grasp the fundamental knowledge before moving on to more advanced topics.
When I was selected for the national team of outstanding students, I paid even more attention and focused more on History during the final preparation period (about two months) before the exam.
My secret to excelling in History is combining what I learned from my teachers with what I accumulated through practice tests and exams. I focused on mastering the fundamentals, using mind maps, understanding the core concepts, and then developing exam-taking skills."
During the stressful exam preparation period, Sung A Chua said he would take advantage of any free time to rest, only focusing fully close to the exam day.
"Usually, I relax by sleeping, playing on my phone, chatting with friends, or inviting them for a walk around the school," Sung A Chua shared.
Commenting on Sung A Chua, Ms. Tran Thi Thanh Hue, Deputy Principal of Viet Bac Highland High School and also the person in charge of the school's History competition team, said that Sung A Chua is a male student with a good attitude towards learning and a determination and desire to conquer.
"In 11th grade, Sung A Chua achieved national excellence with a second prize in History, taking the exam ahead of schedule. However, Chua still aspired to win first prize. She showed remarkable determination by proactively asking her teacher to let her continue competing to win first prize, and ultimately, she achieved this," Ms. Hue further shared.
