Admitted directly to police academy thanks to impressive achievements

These days, Sung A Chua is preparing for the admission process at the People's Security Academy. "I'm very excited, waiting for the admission day," the Mong student shared with Dan Viet and hopes that his father will take him to the school, and if possible, bring his mother along, so that both parents can see the university their son will attend.

Sung A Chua said that he will officially enroll in school in October. Talking about the reason for choosing to study at the police academy , Sung A Chua shared: "I dream of becoming a police officer and my family also has the same orientation. This admission season, I only submitted my application to the People's Security Academy. Studying at the police academy will help reduce some of the tuition fees, make it easier for my parents, and in the future, I will serve my homeland and have a stable career."

With a father who is an officer at the media and culture center, a mother who is a farmer, and a younger sister who is studying, Sung A Chua said that compared to the locality, his family is normal like many other families, but compared to his friends in the city , they lack many things, and the school fees are not enough because the economy depends only on his father.

The years studying at Viet Bac High School ( Thai Nguyen ) left Sung A Chua with many impressions, he was loved by many friends.

Also here, the male student made his mark through a series of "huge" achievements in History. In the 2023-2024 school year, Sung A Chua won first prize in the national History subject and was directly admitted to the People's Security Academy.

Previously, in History, I participated in many competitions and won a series of awards such as: Grade 9 won Second Prize in History for Excellent Students at the Provincial Level 2020-2021; Grade 10 won Second Prize in History for Excellent Students at the Provincial Level 2021-2022; won a Silver Medal in History in the Excellent Students' Competition for Excellent Students in the Coastal and Northern Delta regions; Grade 11 won Second Prize in History for Excellent Students at the Provincial Level 2022-2023; won Second Prize in History for Excellent Students at the National Level 2022-2023; won First Prize in History for Excellent Students at the Provincial Level 2022-2023; won a Gold Medal in History in the Excellent Students' Competition for Excellent Students in the Coastal and Northern Delta regions; won Second Prize in History at the Provincial Level 2023-2024.

"Viet Bac Highlands High School is my dream school for all 4 years of secondary school. The school does not require an exam but only considers transcripts. The district has 3 quotas and I was lucky to be accepted to study at Viet Bac Highlands High School. Here, I am exempted from tuition, food and accommodation fees," said Sung A Chua.

The secret to studying History well: "Learn and accumulate at the same time"

Continuously achieving "huge" results in History, but Sung A Chua said, he only studies like everyone else, but perhaps each person's way of studying, perception and thinking is different so the results will be different.

"Studying History is not that difficult, the important thing is to understand it," said the male student.

Talking about his love for History, Sung A Chua said: "I have been attached to History and competed in this subject for 5 years. I have loved History since I was in 6th grade, perhaps my passion and love for the subject is the reason why I am attached to History. As for my initial success with this subject, it is thanks to the subject teachers, the homeroom teacher and my classmates who taught, encouraged and helped me a lot.

The school created favorable conditions for us to participate in the national excellent student exam. Most of the time we studied for the exam. We had our own study room. The time was very flexible for us, so I made for myself a schedule to arrange time for studying, reviewing, practicing questions and living in the most suitable way during the time of studying for the excellent student exam.

I have a specific plan for each content, each stage, and I study to the point where I am sure of the review process. I started participating in the History team since grade 10, so my review process was throughout the 3 years of high school. The teachers taught, reviewed, and practiced questions for each excellent student exam at all levels throughout each school year, so I grasped the basic knowledge, then learned the key knowledge.

When I was selected for the national excellent student team, I paid more attention and concentrated on History in the final stretch (about 2 months) before the exam.

The secret to mastering History is that I was taught by the teachers and also accumulated knowledge by myself through each practice test and each exam. I learned to grasp the basic knowledge, studied according to mind maps, understood the nature, and then the test-taking skills.

During the stressful exam preparation time, Sung A Chua said he would take advantage of any free time to rest, only focusing fully close to the exam date.

"Usually I relax by sleeping, playing with my phone, chatting with friends, and asking friends to go for a walk around school," Sung A Chua shared.

Commenting on Sung A Chua, Ms. Tran Thi Thanh Hue, Vice Principal of Viet Bac High School for Ethnic Minorities and also the person in charge of the school's History competition team, said that Sung A Chua is a male student with good learning awareness and determination, and a desire to conquer.

"In grade 11, Sung A Chua achieved the achievement of being a national excellent student with second prize in History, passing the exam to a higher level. However, Chua still yearned to conquer first prize. He had a very commendable spirit when he proactively asked me to continue competing to conquer first prize, and finally he achieved this achievement," Ms. Hue shared more.
